Let The Mayhem Begin!

I'm kicking off a Heroscapers exclusive Wallpapers section in the downloads area. Kicking off the collection is Dragonslayer with the debut of his goregous work of art: Let The Mayhem Begin!

And Mayhem it was! It took DS 50 hours from start to finish to shoot this one photo! The photoshop file, to build it, dove 29 layers deep!
If the photo looks familiar, that's because it is. It's a live set-up of the box art from the Tower Expansion Set.

You can check out Dragonslayers heroscape photography in his MOAM (Mother of All Maps) Thread in the forums section.

What's the first thing your do when you sit down with a shiny new issue of the HS Codex? If you're anything like me you crack that bad boy open and immediately start thumbing through pages to check out all the beautiful layouts by Atmospro, and the extraordinaire art work by the resident artists. One of the finest and hardest working, of those artists, is our own Hex_Enduction_Hour!

What you may not know is that Hex maintains a thread here in the forums section of heroscapers, wherein he posts his works in progress and other fun artsy stuff he's put his hands to.

Here we see his uber-cool gladiatrons, as featured in HS Codex Issue 4, in various stages of development .

More recently he's done some hyroglyphic-esque sidewalk chalk drawings for...

The Heroscape Room

Recently our good friend Erik Arneson at about.com traveled deep into the holiest of heroscape sanctuaries, the hallowed "Heroscape Room". In the words of Mr. Arneson:

"In a nondescript room on the ground floor at Hasbro's office in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, decisions are made that impact everyone who plays HeroScape. Recently, I was fortunate enough to spend some time there. This photo gallery includes a dozen photos taken inside what Hasbro game designers often refer to as "The HeroScape Room"

Castle Renovation

Lack of visual detail on your castle set got you down?

We've got just the solution your looking for. A fast easy way to touch up your castle, to bring it on par with all of the rest of your Heroscape gear.
You see, nearly everything that comes out for Heroscape employs a technique known in the painting world as: Washing. "Washing" is a technique in which you add thinned-down paint or ink to a figure to emphasize the deep parts -- effectively creating shadows where there really aren't any.
Here you can see washing used in various Heroscape releases:
