You Know Donner and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen

Posted January 18th, 2019 at 03:47 AM by flameslayer93
But do you know the most famous reindeer of all?

It's 2019! I know I'm late. But that's not the point of this post.

So, in spirit of the new year, I think I should try to set a resolution for the year. I'm not entirely sure what I should try to achieve. And then, like virtually all new year's resolutions, probably fail miserably at it.

Or, maybe not! My goal for 2017 was to get into the competitive 'scape scene, and my goal for 2018 was to further my relationship with my then girlfriend, Tina. Both of those worked out, and now I need to think of something for 2019.

I have plenty of low hanging fruits I could reach for including:

1) Save money! Doubt it, I don't want to devote myself to money.
2) Start excersising! I know I've put on some weight, but even I can't take this seriously.
3) Start going to bed at a reasonable time. I work second shift...
4) Squeeze more hours out of a day so I can...

Don’t disrupt the classroom!

Posted December 21st, 2018 at 10:39 PM by flameslayer93
With the latest C3V release, (Wave 21, pack 2), I thought I’d post ideas about it’s ‘Disruptor’ unit Boreos. I got a couple playtests in with him, and I’m looking forward to playing more of him, with and without Talingul. I’m loving how he is a rather potent Disruptor class unit, and has a few builds where he could shine as the MVP (or runner up).

But first, I should define a Disruptor class unit. Basically, it’s a unit who’s job is to deny your opponent strong turns. The strongest Disruptors are Deathreavers. They can stall out melee units by screening them and taking away valuable attacks by simply leaving engagement with them. They don’t do as much harm to ranged units who can still shoot, but they are effective at gumming up the map.

Other classic ones include Gladiatrons, Major X17, and Air Elementals (who disrupt in a similar way to Boreos). Sadly, all of these units are best at disrupting melee units.

Also, while they don’t deny movement...

The Darkness Within vs The Blazing Monarchy

Posted November 6th, 2018 at 03:29 AM by flameslayer93
Tomorrow, @LoveElemental and I are going to play a 900 point match where we'll just toss a bunch of our customs into one match and see how it turns out. We've released one on the site (Rastuci Sunce), but there's a whole bunch still there. I'll give a quick rundown of what each one does (unless it's official/c3v/Rastucis, in which case I'll just link it ).

The Darkness Within (played by me)
Morgoloth
Mezzodemon Warmongers x2
Isamu
Wolves of Badru x2
Mardrom (custom)
Gatekeepers of Elchim x4 (custom)

The Blazing Monarchy (played by LE)
Vječno Sunce (custom)
Rastuci Sunce x4
Armoc Warlord (custom)
Bovem (custom)

We're set to play on Juxtaposed (both halves combined), partially because it's been set up for a good few weeks now.

A quick run-through of the customs not linked:
Mardrom - A melee dragon who can kill dice based on his revealed order markers....

Gonna sit around the shanty momma, and get a good buzz on

Posted October 19th, 2018 at 03:31 PM by flameslayer93
Life’s been good these days. Tina (@LoveElemental ) has been great here in Cleveland. Money’s a bit tight, but I got a good raise this week. That should help a bunch. I’m not money-oriented by any stretch, but I still don’t want to be as broke as a joke.

NHSD is tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to going with Tina and our friends. Bump into different folks there and ‘scape it up.

Screws, Secret Treasures, and Hard Salami

Posted September 29th, 2018 at 08:27 PM by flameslayer93
So Tina decided to live here in Cleveland with us. We’ve decided to take the basement’s sideroom as a bedroom since my old room is too small. We’ve been tossing stuff out left and right, and largely tore down a bar. We aren’t keeping most of the wood, but some of the flats are good for tourney scape purposes.

We bought a pretty big dresser today to house our clothes; the thing took a while to get into the basement. I’m just glad it’s down there, the drawers are still sitting in my van.

We’ve found the old Super Nintendo too. Hopefully it works. We’ve found Zelda, Mario, and Sim City so far. How many still work though? We’ll have to find out when we get the wreck of a basement fixed.
