HeroScape is a wonderful way to pass an evening with friends, but for a person with a more active imagination, it also is the perfect fantasy world to dream up scenarios, terrain, and stories. This blog displays my thoughts and creations of HeroScape fantasy.

HeroScape Diorama

Posted July 18th, 2009 at 03:16 PM by Nooblar
The other day I realized that my HS collection was beginning to grow into a nice-side obsession. I have acquired a ton of terrain in the last year, as opposed to just buying figures, so I did what any sane person would do--see just what I could build with all of my HS terrain. I cheated, but only a tiny bit, by including the lexan water mat. Still, it's a pretty decent-sized map.

Prison Break!

Posted June 25th, 2009 at 01:14 AM by Nooblar
The sounds of boots on stone, scraping leather, and soft clinking of mail armor reverberate through the dungeon corridors as the prisoners navigate the labyrinthine tunnels. The prison revolt had gone badly, but these few hardy ones managed to escape the main force of guards and stole what armor and weapons they could from the barracks. Even their magical abilities were beginning to return as they made their way out of the mana-draining vaults under the ground. Then one of them shouts! Light streams in through the main door, which was left unguarded when the revolt started! They are free...if they can make their way past the monsters which roam the countryside...

One of my favorite custom game types is the Prison Break scenario. Most of the time you control a whole army and fight against an equally-matched foe. In this game type, however,...

Melee Mixer

Melee Mixer is a straight-up 2-player map. I finally got around to opening my RotV which I won at TTO 2008, and when I saw the pieces it hit me: that set really had a lot of terrain! I wonder what I can make with just 1 master set... And so this map was born.

Update: Some of the forum members suggested changes to terrain height in a few places and glyph locations. I have updated the downloadable PDF.

Storming the Sewers

Posted December 22nd, 2008 at 08:34 PM by Nooblar
The seige on the Fortress of the Archkyrie has lasted for three months, but the stalemate is about to be broken. The city's attackers have been tunneling underneath the city and have finally broken into the sewer system. If the first wave can open the city gates and signal the main army, a two-pronged attack will take the city through the gate and the sewers. If the city defenders collapse the tunnels, they will have crushed half of the opposing army. Tonight will decide the fate of the two armies...

Roundabout

Posted June 29th, 2008 at 02:26 PM by Nooblar
Roundabout is a 3-player free-for-all skirmish. I had to tear down the physical map to get ready for a party, but here are a VirtualScape image and the PDF instructions.
