Am I Insane? (Or am I biting off more than I can chew?)

Posted May 20th, 2015 at 06:11 PM by Heroscaper Guy
So, it's been a little while. I just completed high school and the first two years of college (Woot!). I am now going to be studying Computer Science at the University of West Florida. During sometime probably in the Fall, I am hoping to get my first job to get some support for myself and start saving for when I move out. I also want to start working on my videogame ideas (I have about five, but two are more developed than the others). So, yeah I'm going to be very busy, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end, after I recover from burnout . I think I'm also dealing with who I am better. There's been many times that I have been dealing with my depression and body image issues. I'm still not sure how to discuss this stuff, as bringing up the subject with friends and family of LGBT, has been really iffy with their reactions. I just don't know. I don't want to hurt my family and friends, as they've been my support for a lot of my life and they were proud of me at my graduation, so I don't feel like I should put them through strain. As if life for teenagers wasn't hard enough, got to add in all this.

Not insane at all. Welcome to life!

You can take big bites of life and also chew slowly or take them out and take smaller bites. You can spit out things you don't like.

If you think friends and family wouldn't take things well right now then that will just cause you more stress, right? So go slow. Life is long and there is opportunity for most things to unfold when the time is right. Your real friends will be there for you no matter what, just as you'll be there for them.

You can do it!

Here on the net we don't see your physical self, but appreciate you for your contributions.

You might enjoy reading The Forever War by Joe Haldeman, a classic SciFi novel where sexual customs and preferences change greatly over time.

Another book for you . . .

Well met!

Triton, by Samuel Delaney, posits a future where people change bodies and sexual orientation at will. You might also like his Dahlgren, which is his best book, with a bi-sexual, one-sandaled, poet protagonist, living in a vaguely post-apocalyptic San Francisco, featuring groups of young people running around in glowing, holographic, fantasy dinosaur suits. It is also Joycian, a la Ulysses, in that the book's last phrase is the beginning of the phrase that opens the novel.
