Here's a common hero I made using the Mercenary figure from Heroclix Dark Knight Rises set.

Hmmm, a fairly straightforward unit. He has slight bonding and range, but nothing special. His cost seems dead-on.

Taking a horde of them would probably do well, even if it got boring. Perhaps giving him bonding to other Maredan heroes would spice things up?

I like the simplicity of it, though it might need a little something more to make it work it in the Mariedian army. I guess it's kind of a low cost heavy hitter compared to the M-43s, but in the grand scheme of things 3 attack isn't a heavy hitter.

A horde would do terribly by the way flameslayer, two attacks of 3 a turn is not going to cut it, especailly with the cost of each figures.

I agree. He's kind of vanilla at the moment. I was thinking about something like

"After taking a turn with this Mariedian Commando, if he did not attack this turn, you may move up to two Mariedian Commandos who did not already move this turn up to five spaces." That way, you can move 4 and attack with 1, or move and attack with 2.

Would that be an improvement?

Not really in my mind. I'm asking what they do in an army that Kira Jax/the B-11 don't. Upping their attack to 4 would alleviate those concerns but would need thematic justification.
