C3G Strategy - October 2019

Nice article. I see you're pretty much using the format we used years ago when I was active in the reviewers circle.

Why is Heroscapers.com important?

Good post! Very interesting. Most of the time when we don’t mention specific offenses, it’s to protect the banned user from a public trial - banning feels like punishment enough.
The only three things I’ve really banned for are being a bot, using your very few posts on the site specifically for spam, or being a dishonest and unreliable trading partner.

Why is Heroscapers.com important?

@Lazy Orang This is a neutral summary of the events, including what the rule was about. This is a good overview of the backlash which has followed, along with a full list of everyone who has resigned (still ongoing). Also, if you go to the Meta SE home page and look at the title of current threads, you'll see just how chaotic things are getting.

~TGRF, who notes that what people have taken issue with is the way Monica was treated, not the content of the rule change. A very important distinction.

What was the rule? I'd be interested to know.

Contributors and Supporters - September 2016

Just got a chance to read here. Good article. My thoughts on this were that it was a very informative article getting at my exact question I had in the forum. I wanted a list of perks spelled out, and also the differences in said perks being given to contributors. I like being part of the Heroscapers community. I love the site. Others have said, just do it out of love for the site. I personally look at things I spend my money on as an investment. If others don't think that way it is on them. If I spend money, I want to know what I'm getting from said money spent. I've enjoyed this site for a long while, and appreciate the folks that have supported it with money to keep the lights on. I've put plenty of time and efforts into this site for no monetary gain, but I'll have to disagree with TGRF on his opinion. Putting forth the money to help keep the lights on is just as important as helping produce free content for the masses of scapers. Putting money towards the site, generally for most was made by hard work. The only reason I'm hesitant of spending the money to be a lifelong supporter is that I don't come here for much these days. Though I love the game, I just don't do much with it anymore. So the investment would be pulled from my other hobby funds. If you weren't using something as much, you wouldn't invest in it would you? Also, one other comment would be on the contributor status vs the site supporter status. There isn't enough difference there for most of those people to pay the money to upgrade to site supporter status in my opinion. Some may, most probably wont. Overall a very informative article, and appreciate being pointed in this direction. Thanks.

FFC #36 - The Cover for End Come

I've put the writing on hold briefly while I work a bit more with the characters. I'm trying to get a better sense for who each character is (something I've wanted to improve on for awhile). It shouldn't take more than a few days. After that, I found some transition holes in the outline which I need to plug, then I can start writing.

I'm still not comfortable with hard work being less rewarding than money, but that's just me. Apparently.

Customs Creation - October 2019

I'd just like to point out that, when the cards were sent to me for me to do my analysis, this one was one up from the bottom - as such, if parts of my analysis seem bizarre (such as when I reference the previous units) that'll be why.
(I also mistakenly said that she and the drone took up 90 points together instead of 100, it seems - must have been tired...)

FFC #36 - The Cover for End Come

@TheAverageFan It used to be I'd just grab an image off the internet and mess with it a bit in Photoshop, throw it against a black 8.5 x 11 page, and throw in some text. I experimented with Photoshop effects for Red, and actually got an artist from HSers to do the cover for Ragnak (I can barely digitally draw a stick figure).

The more recent covers have been 3D experiments. I'm not even an intermediate user of 3D, but I know enough about Blender to eventually produce something close to what I want. The covers for ACoS, HiS, and End Come have all used Blender, and steadily progressing methods for rendering images. I create the needed object (in this case a window, wall, and light source to get the desired light), set up the camera, render the picture, plop it in Photoshop, blend the edges in, and add the text. Materials and Textures are where things fall apart. So far, I haven't used them in covers aside from basic color materials. Eventually I would like to start texturing things and make them look rougher.

Neato. I can't recall if I've ever asked how you make those covers of yours. They're always so nice looking.

Once Again Into The Breach - Revised Test

Well met!

Revised test yet again - hopefully the last revision before Saturday. Bigga advised lowering the price on all but Sirenia, so will keep his opinion in mind going forward.

Recently sent for a couple of figures which could appear at the last minute (see P.S. in Blog above).
