TGRF's Fan Fiction Chronicles - Entry #30
Now that I have gotten more or less moved in and my computer is set up, I've been able to get back into my writing, test the waters, and find out where we stand.
The final fan fiction series is coming. This is a given. It is having difficulties getting off the ground though. There are a few factors contributing to this:
So here's my plan.
I'm going to take a short break from development. I might join in on the next round of CoN. During this time, I'll be looking around for inspiration, and maybe doing some worldbuilding. Together, they should give me the simple story I need.
I only need one story, because once I have one written, I'm in. I'll have characters and events to play off of. But I need that initial story first.
~TGRF, who notes that he is liable to find inspiration at any moment, and also that any inspiration is not guaranteed in the slightest to last more than half a day. Stay tuned.

The final fan fiction series is coming. This is a given. It is having difficulties getting off the ground though. There are a few factors contributing to this:
- I want the installments to show - even if they don't focus on - the war. I've created a history of how the war began, where it stands, and how it will proceed once the series begins. I want to show that. I'm having trouble finding stories which are connected enough to the war.
- Nothing feels particularly strong. I still don't have any sense of what the next story should be. It is still incredibly easy for me to pause and look at the development, and feel like it's going nowhere or that it is destined to not work out.
- I keep running into complex problems on unimportant details. Few things sap my urge to write like the development being stopped because I don't know how to fix some problem. It's even worse when the problem is with a minor detail, which is nonetheless necessary to the story. This is happening a lot, and makes me want to work with (and find) a simple story to start with.
