Went over to
Chas' to test out some ideas I had for a
Treasure Mountain type scenario
[see previous blog entries on the subject]. With only two players, we were unable to create a viable "Crazy Troll"-rule neutral shooters, treasure hunt scenario, so, after a couple of attempts, we abandoned that idea
. We were also unhappy with the limitations of the portal I had substituted for a gate (it was too easily blocked).
It was then that we decided to experiment with teleportation, in a standard kill-em-all format, which turned out to be an exciting success! The same two maps were now connected only by teleporters, represented by poker chips (red in the Dungeon, blue on the "Hill", which in this case wasn't really a hill . . .).
A unit could teleport from blue to red or red to blue, but not red to red or blue to blue (that is, from map to map, but not from portal...
