Click here if you don't want to wait.

Posted June 20th, 2009 at 12:41 PM by The B.I.V.

Click here if I don't want to wait?! Huh? Ever see this?!! Am I honestly supposed to think that if I don't want to wait an extra 5 seconds that there's this magic button that's somehow going to get me through faster? Well, clicked it today just out of curiosity. It didn't do jack squat as far as I can tell. It's dumb, too, cuz anyone coming to an internet forum is coming to waste time, so saving that extra 5 seconds probably doesn't matter to them. 'Course, it really doesn't say anything about getting me through faster, so maybe that's just me, projecting my own meaning onto it. It really doesn't imply anything at all about what happens when you "click here." Maybe it makes a little tally mark on some computer program that's part of a "impatient morons on the internet study." Maybe there's just some fool on the other end that gets off every time he gets someone to press this idiot...

The Battle Royale brought some good new blood!

Posted June 16th, 2009 at 07:50 PM by The B.I.V.
I know it was a while ago, but I just wanted to say that, not only was the Battle Royale a fun contest that gave us all a fun way to pas the time until Wave 9 comes, but it also brought some great new members into the forum including Messenger, RabSheila and TheRedfro (if for nothing more than that awesome avvy). I'm sure there are others I missed. Just felt like spreading some love. Peace!

Evil Corporate BASTIDS!

Posted June 9th, 2009 at 10:59 PM by The B.I.V.
Hmmm...seems I've seriously underestimated my IT department. The jerkoffs have apparently blocked this site! I'm torn between pissed off at their lameness and grudgingly respectful of their deviousness...

Oh, well. I guess I can't complain. They still provide me with this sweet laptop, I get to use my neighbor's wireless internet for free and, hence, I can still get on in the evenings. Life is good, right?

Besides, after all these awesome Wave 9 previews, things seem to have slowed to a trickle once again. Weird. I was here for the Wave 8 and AA previews and it didn't seem to slow down much at that time.

Speaking of Wave 9 previews, has anyone else noticed that most of the blog comments on the card previews are complete crap? I mean, granted this is a forum and probably 99% of the stuff posted here is crap but really:

Does anybody know if there's going to be a 3rd master set?
Don’t interrupt me while I’m drooling over the Capuan...

Reflections on Subway...

Posted June 5th, 2009 at 11:14 PM by The B.I.V.
As many of you know, I don't have a whole lot going on at work at the moment and even when I do have stuff to do, I don't want to do it.

Anyway, I went to Subway for lunch and I'm all: "I'm gonna get me a $5 foot-long (because I've been brainwashed into it by those incessant advertisements)." So I'm going through the list of crap sandwiches for $5 (because they're not gonna sell you the good stuff for $5, are you crazy?!!) and I notice 'BLT.' And I'm all: "Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato? Wait a sec. You get lettuce and tomato for free on every subway sandwich, so why don't they just call it a B sandwich, cuz really the only extra thing you're getting is the bacon." Then I'm like: "What a rip! Bacon is a topping, not a meat in and of itself. I mean, I love bacon as much as the next guy, but I like it on top of some real meat, like a burger, not by itself on a bun." So I was all: "Forget that, I'll blog about it when I get back to work (which I'm...

Grammar and Me

Posted April 13th, 2009 at 07:10 PM by The B.I.V.

I've been working on a particular grammar problem recently and I just realized why it's so difficult.

It's the proper use of (blank) and I vs. (blank) and me.

I used to always say: "Dad, me an' Anthony are going to the store (Anthony was my best friend)." He'd always reply: "Mean Anthony? Anthony's mean?!" Funny, huh? Of course I should have been saying Anthony and I are going to the store.

The reason this is difficult to get through my head is that the Anthony part comes before the variable part (I or me).

It would be easier to say: Dad, I (the hard part) and Anthony (the given) are going to the store because by the time I say the "anthony" part, I've forgotten which part (I or Me) I should say next and I usually say the wrong one!

Damn you, English language! Anyway...I'm sure I'll get it eventually. I've gotten really good at saying that I'm doing well instead of doing good (so...
