Contributors and Supporters
Interview with Xotli
Author: The Grim Reaperís Friend

Equal rights has always been a bit of a thing with me. And Iím not talking about the popular political issue. Iím talking about equal rights for contributors and supporters on this very site: HSers.

You see, site supporters have far more privileges than contributors do. Itís just a fact. This has always struck me as wrong and imbalanced. Certain site supporters long ago pointed out to me that without them, the site simply could not exist. But without the contributors, there wouldnít be a site to exist. At least not the way it is today.

I know a lot of readers at this point will probably roll their eyes and move on, and I donít blame them: this is clearly just the idea of one person, probably turned against site supporters early on by several incidents

Aches and Pleasures

Posted August 26th, 2016 at 09:59 AM by Sylvano the Wasabus
Today I am stiff and sore. My sons and I have been fighting in the back yard, partly in preparation for the medieval camp and partly just for the joy of it.

Itís fun to get hot and sweaty and then splash into our portable pool. Today we had an audience, little nosey neighbourhood girls camped out two doors down. They kept calling out to us ďhey boys, weíre the supernatural sistersĒ. It was very funny. My sons didnít realize these 8 and 9 year olds were trying to flirt with them. Iím old enough to be their grandpa. I heard them talking- why do some people talk so loudly?- they thought we were playing Star Wars- because those are the only knights and swords they know of.

I heard a quote i really liked the other day, from Pete Seeger. I canít remember the exact words but essentially he said that he didnít know if what he was doing mattered or made any kind of difference in the world. But it made a difference in his life because the real people, the...

3 games of Scape yesterday

Posted August 25th, 2016 at 08:29 AM by Hendal
And the Snakes come rolling in.

I got in some 500 pt games yesterday with my buddy Bubba. I had Mittens, 2 armoc vipers, and 5 vipers verses his 4 x 4th Mass, raelin, eldgrim, & Sgt. Drake ( 1st ). I should have lost both matches I felt, unless the Frenzy was hitting well. We had 2 unknown glyps and I headed to the left side and came up with +2 move, which gave me 11 move, just what I wanted, he he. I was rolling good frenzies, but what really helped me was Bubba was rolling no defense and was wiffing against my 0 defense. I crushed him, I just used vipers to overrun him. I killed off raelin first, so that was the downfall of the first game.
2nd game we used the same armies, I did not frenzy as much, and he got his Raelin up on height and had guys surrounding her so I could not get any of my range 1 guys beside her. I headed to the other side away from his raelin and started to pick off anyone out of raelins range. both glyphs turned out. to be...

GC 2016 day 1

Posted August 24th, 2016 at 09:31 PM by Hendal
Hey All,

So Gencon 2016 was a success, it was a crazy time to say the least. I won my dice for the 4x500 on day 2, got 2nd on day one for 4x400, I lost to George who I played again on day 2 for the dice, so glad I won one of the 2, he he. I had to take the bus and my stuff was as disorganized as ever. This is a reminder to myself to actually have armies ready to go, even if I change them last minute, that is fine.
So I got to go into the dealer hall an hour early with all the fancy pants people and it was a dream come true for me ( I have been dreaming of this for over 8 years ). I lucked in to being at the very front of the line, and am a very fast walker ( the only person who passed me was running and was being yelled at the whole time, no one passed me, and a couple people working the booths where like - that guy has it going on ). I went right to , wait for it, Plaid Hat games to try and get SeaFall, I have no clue how but people where there before me....

Fan Art Spotlight - August 2016

Posted August 21st, 2016 at 07:41 PM by HS Codex

From the Desk of a Frostrager
A fan art spotlight
Author: Evar Scarcarver

I started writing this Spotlight soon after deciding on a concept idea and art piece. I started early, in order to get it on time for the editors to get it edited and posted.

And then I opened up the document and realized the article I had was horrible: the concept was clichť, the delivery was confusing, and I had no idea where I was going with it. And so, deadlines looming (past actually, which is worse), I made the insane decision to completely re-write my column in hopes that it would be something that someone somewhere might find worth reading.

This is one of the several reasons there was no From the Desk of a Frostrager last month.

My life has been really busy lately, filled with new responsibilities and expectations. Expectations
