Adventure Pack 2: Jabba's Palace

Han Solo has been kidnapped by the evil crime lord Jabba the Hutt. The smuggler-turned-rebel is trapped in carbonite inside a seemingly impenetrable fortress. Pig-like Gamorreans guard every entrance, Jabba's majordomo Bib Fortuna is ever watchful, and there are rumors of a ferocious Rancor lurking somewhere in the palace… If one can get past those obstacles, there are bound to be all sorts of other scum and villainy loitering about. However, Jabba has underestimated the lengths our heroes will go to in order to rescue their friend. At this very moment Princess Leia Organa is undercover in the palace, and Luke Skywalker, having completed his Jedi training, is on the way…

In addition to 9 new squads and heroes, this release also contains an exciting set...

HoSS Strategy - January 2016

Posted January 25th, 2016 at 07:43 PM by HS Codex

UnitStrategy Review
Unit: Tusken Raiders
Author: Fi Skirata

The Tusken Raiders are quarrelsome warriors of the sand who are highly suspicious of outsiders. Their mastery of the sand and ability to attack in overwhelming numbers help to make this melee squad a force to be reckoned with.

To understand how to best use the Tusken Raiders, you must first take a look at their stats:

Analyzed Statistics
Size – Medium (Average: they can use this to take advantage of bushes and low outcrops, but can be more vulnerable to some powers)
Life – 1 (Typical for a squad unit)
Move – 5 (Average: they will be able to keep up with the bulk of the army, but won’t

Contributors can now Post Blogs!

Posted January 23rd, 2016 at 11:46 AM by The Grim Reaper's Friend
No, you have not misread the title. No, I have not hacked the site to make this a reality. No, I will not relate this entire blog through negatives.

The short story is that contributors now have the ability to post blogs. I myself am proof of this, as I am not a site supporter, and very obviously now have a blog.

The long story, which I'm sure is far more interesting, started several years ago. Well no. It was actually just a sudden decision on the part of the admins with no real background. But it sounds cooler this way.

Note: No offense is meant to site supporters or anyone else by the following.

You see, back in the days when I was involved in such lost causes as crusading against widely accepted army formulas, I developed a bit of a thing about site supporters.

I had recently become a contributor. This was no easy task. It took nearly a year and several messages, but I will not go into specifics. As I say, I had...

Fan Art Spotlight - January 2016

From the Desk of a Frostrager
A fan art spotlight
Author: Evar Scarcarver

Ironically, I played more HeroScape while the Codex was inactive, while we got everything set in stone as to how the new format will work. ‘We’ mainly being the editors, which doesn’t include me, but I use a royal ‘we’ as though the Codex is an entity that is created by merging all those who work on it, which in some ways is true, but is mostly an overly metaphorical artistic vision of how I see the text on the forums in which all the contributors communicate.

It’s been a while (over six months, I believe) since I’ve written this column—this column which has an identity crisis over whether it’s me talking about a piece of art related to the game we all unite through, or me just writing whatever strange overly analytical and strangely metaphorical thing

Raid on Gambia!

Posted January 18th, 2016 at 11:32 PM by kolakoski

Well met!

I am Hosting (meaning creating the scenario, the game still occurring at chas' Game Palace in Brooklyn), out of order, thanks to Taeblewalker's generosity, the Gang's next gathering on February 3rd, so that the Battle Report can appear in April as part of the new Codex blog. I am eschewing the complicated A Royal Rescue! (see comment to my blog post
Musings from Sunny Negril!) in favor of a series of simple kill 'em alls.

Raid on Gambia!

"Arghhh! Captain, our erstwhile partner has landed on the other side of Town. Do we meet him . . .

"Meet him with steel!"
