This is Not the End

Posted March 9th, 2016 at 03:27 PM by The Grim Reaper's Friend
Ever since HeroScape was discontinued, I've seen a disturbing trend begin to spring up. The week of the discontinuation, a good number of members sadly quite HSers. Others struggled on for a time, but the continually dropping numbers and lack of activity finally convinced them, too, to leave the halls of Valhalla.

A few dedicated souls remained. The various customs departments kept the spirit of Scape alive. Map and scenario creation abounded. CoN staggered on, despite low numbers of players. HSers still breathed.

Over the years since the discontinuation, I've seen people, over and over, give up and leave. Their reasons are always the same. "No one is on anymore." "I don't play HS anymore." "The site is dead." Every time I see one of these reasons, I know that another spark of the flame that is HeroScape has flickered and died.

And that's what HeroScape is: a flame; a flame made up out of us, those that remain. Yes,...

Announcement: New Heroscape Wiki Admin

Posted February 26th, 2016 at 07:50 PM by Majora's Incarnation
So today I was attempting to go through my routine check-ups of email accounts during my work hours (when I have no customers of course)

Seeing that Yahoo had 8 new emails I was wondering what was the sudden increase in my inbox, so I checked.

Turns out someone from the Wikia staff looked into my request to adopt the Heroscape wiki and went ahead and changed my user rights, as well as the user rights of the previous admins.

So, unceremoniously, I have now become the new administrator to the Heroscape wiki. And working to improve the content from its broken and very opinionated edits.

I'd love to hear suggestions if anyone may have any.

Why I Left the C3V

Posted February 26th, 2016 at 12:15 AM by Xotli
Why I Left the C3V

It is with great sadness and a touch of bitterness that I stepped down from my position in the C3V earlier today. I joined the C3V on its Editing team a little over 5 years agoóless than a month after its inception. I wasnít the first Editor chosen (that honor belongs to Agent Minivann), but I think I could make an argument for being the second; certainly Iím the only current Editor who has been on that team since the beginning.

For much of that time Iíve been very pleased with what we were able to accomplish, and Iím still happy with some aspects of the project, and several of its members. But the parts that I enjoy have been steadily decreasing throughout the years, and lately Iíve come to dread having to post on C3V issues, and thatís not how one should feel about anything that has to do with oneís favorite game. I still want to think of Heroscape as a fun hobby that I share with my children and friends. So I feel like I have to
