This is just a quick note about Mutant Chronicles - yes, it does have larger figures (though they compare favorably with Krug, for example) and you can ask Tchop or myself about the paint jobs. They look really good. If you're going by the recent TCGPlayer.com previews, the pics they posted don't even come close to how good these figs look.

That being said, it's a blind purchase game which isn't to everyone's liking - however, it's a pretty small first set (only 52 figures) so it's not like a new release for a 300-card CCG or something, which can be worse in some ways.

Also, to relate to something Hextr1p said about cost - it's actually a solid deal for the Starter Set. If you compare it to, say, the forthcoming WoW minis CMG, it's a better deal per cost of figure. When you factor in that FFG gives you the entire set of unit cards with the Starter Set also, you're able to at least proxy every figure in the game - which I think is kind of neat.

But I'm biased I suppose so take what I say with a grain of salt! :P

I have not fully decided on Mutant Chronicles one way or the other yet....I know some folks are not big Dreamblade fans but I loved the figs and the game play was ok as well. Who knows what will happen with me and chronicles

The last ScapeTalk made me drool when Truth mentioned how great he thought wave9 was going to be. We don't even have wave8 and I'm already suffering about wave9. Now that a couple of you mentioned more omnicron stuff in the works, it makes me think that a Q9 counter in white and blue is on the way in wave9. I'll try to listen to this ASAP.

I can't wait for more Omnicron either - More Jandar!!!!

As to the podcast itself... great stuff, mostly. I do feel it would work better if you'd make it a little shorter. I was already skipping over things I wasn't interested in (all the zombies...), and even so, I felt the parts I did listen to went a bit too long.

I have very little to actually complain about. I'm just offering this as a suggestion for improvement of what is already great fun.

I loved the conversational tone of the whole podcast. The fun you guys were having made me wish I was there, laughing along with you. In game reviews what I'd like to see more of is how Game A relates to Games B, D and Z, who the designers are and what else they've done, some behind-the-scenes information... things like that.

As someone who regularly listens to book cds the length of the podcast seems perfectly fine, especially as it's only once a month, and seems like it would tend to get longer as you receive more emails and voice mails that are useable. Instead of trying to reduce the podcast another option would be to have an intermission and split it into two segments.

All good points. As someone who is already invested into a miniatures game, I guess I'm looking at it as, "What does this game offer that I can't get elsewhere for less money." Yes, as mentioned, HS fans are spoiled by the cost of their game. But there are several other higher priced pre-painted mini games out there establishing themselves at prices competitive to MC's, with minatures in sizes you can use in other games (AT-43, and Confrontation come to mind). And both of the aforementioned titles aren't blind purchase.

I don't know. The more I read about MC, the more I think the negatives outweigh the positives. However, I do hope the game is a success for FFG. Otherwise, that's quite a chunk o' change and time the company put into this game.

Good stuff, especially the Omnicron tease.

Kudos to Heroscape Elffy for being a good sport.

I also love the color purple (just hoping for a little mojo for the upcoming contest).

Hmmm... What about soulborgs armed with gas grenades? They wouldn't be affected so an army of Soulborgs with those guys against humans would become a slaughter... And what about some soulborgs for Ullar and Einar? Like 6 legged robots that could hide beneath sand for Einar... I was thinking something that looked something like Scorpion from the movie Transformers... If on a sand tile they cannot be attacked until engaged, then they could have engagement strike. For Ullar... Tiny assassin robots like soundwave in Transformers. Little guys with high move and a range of 1. They could have very slim almost needle like blades...
