This Week @ Heroscapers - May 7th, 2008

Image of the Week
The image of the week is just a nifty little shot from mooseman featuring one of my all-time favorite heroscape sculpts. The photo is called Journey's End and has a great charm about it.
Download of the Week
I've already done an article on this last week, but it is so fantastic it deserves to be mentioned again. VirtualScape has been updated to include the quickly approaching Jungle Set. Build your Ticalla Jungle battlefields in VirtualScape now, share them on heroscapers.com, and then we'll all have scenarios galore for June 13th. VirtualScape can be downloaded HERE.
Blog of the Week
Velenne has really shown us what a heroscpaer blog can be. He has dedicated his blog to sharing his insight on battlefield building. There are some really interesting articles throughout. Check out his blog HERE.
Thread of the Week
Heroscape Game Night Ideas! Gomolka started a thread with his ideas for spicing up your heroscape game nights with some variant play and draft styles. Join in the discussion and add your own ideas!
Event of the Week
Albuquerque, NM - Heroscape Game Day
We are having a Heroscape Game Day at the Inquisitive starting at Noon. Bring several armies to try out in various formats from Multiplayer FFAs to Multiplayer Team games to 1v1 Grudge matches.
Maps will be provided but feel free to bring up any special maps that you want to try out.
The Week In Review
I missed the 'This Week @ Heroscapers' article for last week as I couldn't fit it in with all of the articles that were taking the front page's attention. Fear not, I really do plan to stay consistent with this.
We've hit a bit of a hiccup with the podcast, we've been through one recording and are really happy with where we are headed with the evolution of the podcast, but due to a technical issue we are forced to re-record. I'm going to crank it through production as quickly as I can and hopefully have it up by mid-May
Also, I've got some super-duper exciting news that I don't want to break here but keep a very close look out on the front page.

Once again, all great highlights. Of particular interest is Golmolka's thread, as I've completely missed that one. So thanks for pointing it out!
A great image, as well, by MooseMan. Wonderful depth of field and use of the figure's pose. Regarding Velenne's blog... it's pretty much amazing. Even if one were only to skim over his insights, there are nuggets of cartography goodness that will help make any map even better should folks take into account his words of wisdom. All entries are a great read! Curse you and your 'super-duper' tease! How are we supposed to get any work done with a tidbit like that?! |

A quick note about the DLotW (Down Load of the Week for those not yet over the hump of the day)...
VirtualScape has about 850 downloads. Pretty impressive. So big congrats, again, to Zzzzz and his program o' genius! |

I have to ask, in the most polite voice I can...
CAN YOU PLEASE HAVE THE PODCAST OUT BY NEXT WEEK! Friday at the latest Why I say is because most of you know, I have Dial-up, and the only place I could get the podcast is at school (there are a few others, but not relyable) Next Friday is the last day of school (horray!) for me, and after that, I will not be able to get it. I don't want to rush and ruin it for everyone because of me, but please try Sorry to be so annoying |
