I really do like this guy Let's see how this goes...
Best Army Build/Strategy: Seems to work good anywhere, but best not to activate him every once in a while, because that could really screw you over with Stab in the Back Best Counterdraft/Strategy:Possible someone with high defence to help avoid Blind Rage. Ne-Gok-Sa comes to mind, and adds an additional 5% chance that you will get him--as long as your opponent doesn't get Lodin. Favorite Part of Unit:I like how his armor is black. Really makes him stick out on the battlefield. And not to sound like a total suck-up to GB, but I love the name Hawthorne. Fond Memories:Getting about five attacks in one turn with Blind Rage Bad Memories:Losing because of Stab in the Back If I could change one thing...I don't know. Removing Stab in the Back would really increase his point total, probably to around 120-130. The chance that your opponent will get him seems to really lower it. |

Fond Memories: SH was the last original figure I managed to acquire, completing my Heroscape Collection, back before the recent series of reissues!

Well, Stab in the Back is only a 5% chance, which means on average one in twenty turns he'll switch sides. Besides, don't forget that after switching sides, he can stab your opponent as well...
But I think that grabbing a Glyph of Lodin isn't such a wise idea while using him, though. :P Best Army Build/Strategy: Sir Hawthorne KoW x3 Gilbert Finn Best Counterdraft/Strategy: Strong units, and/or a bit of luck (i.e. having them claim a symbol-side up glyph which turns out to be Lodin, and even better, Cyber-Claw the unit onto it ![]() Favorite Part of Unit: His points are well worth the stats, even with the risk of your opponent getting him. Fond Memories: Haven't played him much, but every time I did, he obliterated the other side. Bad Memories: That one time Hawthorne switched and ended up obliterating my army (until he switched back and pulled out the win for me ^_^) If I could change one thing... I wish that they had put the little silver circles inside the gold ones on his breastplate on the rerelease. T.T |

I think I agree with most everything written already. That 5% chance comes up nearly never ... or always. Just last night, another guy played with Ne-Gok-Sa and failed to roll a 20 in at least 20 rolls. Hawthorne is definitely worth the gamble.
Best Army Build/Strategy: I would also go Knights and Finn and/or Gilbert, but I'd also add Thorgrim or another defensive specialist ... just in case the Stab happens. Best Counterdraft/Strategy: I wonder about the gladiators. At least the heroes should hold their own, while they're also strong enough to compete with Hawthorne's 4 defense. Favorite Part of Unit: 6 Life. Being able to hold out through a few skirmishes remains key to longevity. Fond Memories: Finding out he was being rereleased because I missed the Promo. ![]() ![]() Bad Memories: None so far. And I hope to keep it that way. If I could change one thing... I'd make him a little taller. bg |

Wow. Epic fail on my part.
Quick note; getting a Glyph of Lodin makes him unable to switch sides, not even more likely. Sorry guys. >.> |

Best Army Build/Strategy:
I really like 3Kow, Hawthorne, Gilbert, and Raelin. It comes out to 485, so you can throw in the filelr of your choice. Best Counterdraft/Strategy: Anything you can catch him out in the open with. He's a strong hero, but when cornered he's not going to survive multiple strong attacks. Favorite Part of Unit: Stab in the back. It allows his point cost ot be drastically lower, and in all of the games I've played with him, he rarely ever betrays me. Fond Memories: Every game I play with him has been great. He's just a fun unit. Bad Memories: Every time he betrays me. ![]() If I could change one thing: I'd make him Jandar. Sure, he's a betrayer and an overall jerk, but there are a lot of single-general tournaments near me, and that means I can't use him. |

Best Army Build/Strategy: Put him with the Death Knights. They bond, fit together, and it would be awesome.
Best Counterdraft/Strategy: Probably someone like Chompy or Braxas. Favorite Part of Unit: Overall appearance. He looks soooo awesome. Fond Memories: N/A Bad Memories: N/A If I could change one thing: I don't really know. He is so awesome the way he is and back stab adds to his thematic essence and lowers his point value. I don't think there is much to improve. |
