The Faceless Ones! - Draft Version

Well met!

The next gathering of the Gang is on August 10th. I will be Hosting, and we will be playing The Faceless Ones! (also below). The drafting for this game will begin, in The New York City Gang Of Four thread, on August 3rd. I will roll to determine draft order, and post it. The Gang will then post their draft picks, one pick at a time (two picks when a Player has two in a row, such as the Player choosing 4th). Teammates will be determined after the draft is complete.

I'm really looking forward to this game. A discussion in
Drafting Strategy?, beginning with post #6 (a copy of the scenario itself), with Tornado and Dysole, implies that this will not be merely a draft by the numbers (not that it would be anyways, given the idiosyncrasies of the various members of the Gang), as the relative values of the various choices

GenCon 2016

Posted July 28th, 2016 at 11:54 PM by Hendal
Hey All,

Holy Crap that year went fast, and I have played way way less heroscape, oops. I have been playing HS 2.0 but lets face it Magic HS is just heroscape with extra bells and whistles really , extra hoops to jump through that are hard to remember for the Beer & Pretzel gamer ( i never remember to activate the face down cards ).

So now I need to set up a board or 2 tomorrow and then pull out all the figures, I do have carrying cases for my figures this year, so that is a first. I think I can get in 1 or 2 nights of HS before GC< but I need to think of army builds as well, oh so much HS homework, he he.

Since last year was my worst showing ever, I sure hope to do better this year, I felt so hollow not bringing home the dice, he he. I am excited for the bigger army builds, but of course the time thing will haunt us on that one we all know. A guy with lots of roborats, or the the blastor/gladitron combos, or even the 4th mass...

C3G Interview - July 2016

C3G Interview
Trollbrute, on March Madness winning unit: "Rover"
By: marrowick

Who or what is Rover exactly?

Rover comes from the storyline “Here Comes Tomorrow,” and was created by Grant Morrison and Marc Silvestri. He is a sentient, damaged Sentinel robot from a dystopian future where an evil, Sublime-possessed version of the X-Man Beast controls most of the planet. Rover, along with his human companion, Tom Skylark, joins up with the future X-Men to fight Beast. Rover gives his life during the fight, but he and the X-Men are able (through wibbly wobbly, comicey womicey means) to change the past and prevent this future. Versions of Rover also appear in the awesome cartoon Wolverine and the X-Men and the limited comic series Sentinel.

Why did the heroes choose Rover as a contestant in the “March Madness” event?

Rome on the Road

Posted July 27th, 2016 at 10:44 AM by Sylvano the Wasabus
There’s a big river that runs down the center of our Big Game square grid map. You could say it divides that small world in two. On the right hand side at the top are the Romans and all of their roads. Roads cost points but they speed movement by 3. Usually an army can move 1 square per turn, but on the road, they travel 3. It helps Rome to move is armies and points around quickly.

Underneath Rome on the right are the gnolls. Defeated by Rome but not annihilated, they now serve Rome and send it tribute. A large gnoll army has gathered and set off to cross the river to threaten the Kingdom of Arc.

At the top of the map on the left is York. We keep our points secret until two armies meet, so Rome has no clue how many points York has. They had a slower start, but they haven’t fought any big battles. I know that Rome is in for a nasty surprise up there.

Below York on the left is the struggling kingdom of Arc. Their expensive cavalry,...
