Having the Courage to Go Up to Someone You Like!

Posted June 6th, 2008 at 01:58 PM by funrun
I know it might be hard to believe, but I've never approached I guy I liked out of the blue! I'm talking about the typical TV and movie scenes where a guy goes up to a girl and asks her to dance, or if he can join her for lunch, etc. These scenes usually end in rejection or awkward moments. I think it's a fear in everyone to approach someone of the opposite sex for any reason.

But funrun, you seem like such a confident, pretty girl! What do you have to be worried about?

Well, back when I was in school and hadn't had a boyfriend yet, I was way too shy to approach any guy, or any person, for any reason that wasn't directly warranted. I was lucky enough that most of my boyfriends developed out of mutual friendships, so in my more adult life, there never was a situation where either person needed to go out of their way to approach the other out of the blue.

Now I'm single and things are different. I recently found myself in exactly the situation...

Guru Introduction

Posted June 5th, 2008 at 05:49 PM by theGuru
Hey All,

I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself.

I've been lurking around the different incarnations of heroscapers since way back in the .net days.

Now I do a little less lurking, and a little more Rules Lawyering here and there. You may have seen some of my posts as I attempt to help with the more demanding and in-depth questions.

Some of you have been confused that a relative noob with only 200 posts can come in, weigh in on something, and the admins/high ranking members agree with my rulings right away and consider the case closed. Some of you (most Iím assuming) have caught on.

My name is Chris Dupuis. I used to work at Hasbro in the Customer Service Department. If you called Hasbro with a Heroscape Question, I was probably the person that called you back, or the person you were transferred to. I also wrote all of the FAQs for Heroscape.com. Since Iíve been quiet for so long, I just wanted to say...

Learning the Ropes

Posted June 5th, 2008 at 04:55 AM by Aquaryan
I ventured down to the gaming store in hopes to play another Heroscape game. The guy in charge of the game was not there. I did not have my own set with me or I would have set up my own game for someone to play with me.

It is overwhelming to read all the posts in the forum. I am amazed on how much knowledges the Heroscapers on here have on the game.

I just hope to garner that much knowledge.

I would love to create custom cards and re-paint duplicate characters into new ones.

One day....right now, I am just learning the ropes.

Kee-Mo-Shi and Prayer

Posted June 4th, 2008 at 01:38 PM by NamibianScaper
When we first bought Heroscape, I thought I would be the one using Marro all the time. This is because I thought the family wouldn't think they were "cool" and they would be the only units left. If I remember right, I think that is what happened until I won a game or two with them. Now they are some of the most popular units in our family.

My son's favorite unit is by far Kee-Mo-Shi.

He just loves the mind shackle ability. I don't know why he's not as drawn to Ne-Gok-Sa because he usually takes over minds on rolls of 20. Perhaps it's her faster movement. Also, he does not yet know that the Shades of Bleakwoode exist. I plan to keep it that way at least until October.

I once played against him with an all Ullar army. He was down to Kee-Mo-Shi alone vs. 4 of my units. He dodged arrows all the way to my side of the board, eliminated Syvarris and took over the minds of Saylind, Acolarh, and Kyntela Gwyn in 3 consecutive turns.
