Heroscape Traveller - The Final Map?

Well met!

Hopefully, this is it . . .

After the last flurry of modifications to Schloss Wolken, I still came away worried that the places where units entered the map were too exposed.
lefton4ya suggested, "[h]ow about with battlements, but no evergreens. Seriously, trees in the sky (unless like avatar) don't look right, and battlements make sense as walls to prevent falls." I took out (yet again) my table, and the terrain I'd packed, eschewed the Evergreens (saving a ton of space), added two Small Ruins, 2 7-hex Wall Walks, more Battlements, and rebuilt with Start Zones.

Start Zones are the 15 hexes on the lower left and upper right corners (behind Small Ruins).





Four Players will compete in two teams:
The Doom Patrol/Mandarin's Hand vs. The New Agents of Shield/The New Defenders.The winner is the team with the most points on the center seven hexes and on both bridges (five per bridge, a total of 17 hexes) after 10 Rounds.





The Doom Patrol (830).

Doctor Doom, Scarlet Spider, Sandman

Mandarin's Hand (830).
Mandarin, Hand Ninja x 2, Lady Deathstrike, Diablo

The New Agents of Shield (830).
S.H.I.E.L.D Agents x 2 (disguised as Intergang Agents),
Commander Rogers (Steve Rogers), Nick Fury, Agent Hunter

The New Defenders (835).
Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Iron Man

Changed Victory Conditions

Well met!

Added 7-hex Wall Walk to each Start Zone, laid out the preferred opponents, and changed the Victory Conditions:

Start Zones are the 13 hexes on the lower left and upper right corners (behind Small Ruins). [There will actually be an additional seven.] Four Players will compete in two teams: The Doom Patrol/Mandarin's Hand vs. The New Agents of Shield/The New Defenders.The winner is the team with the most points on the center seven hexes and on both bridges
(five per bridge, a total of 17 hexes) after 10 Rounds.

P.S.: Replaced pics with new ones featuring extended Start Zones.

P.P.S.: Changed Victory Conditions to area control to avoid flyers being able to stall when ahead in points.

I am still both excited and trepidatious about how it will play. I hope it will be fun, challenging, and reasonably balanced. I fear that it will be frustratingly unbalanced. I'll find out Friday . . .

P.S.: What this map/scenario needs is a back story and/or a more exciting name . . .

Preliminary Battle Report

Well met!

chas and I got 4 games in. The Agents won 3 out of 4 (the last with Silver Banshee, Scarlet Spider, Boomerang, and Iron Monger in place of the opponent's Doom Patrol), chas admittedly not knowing the cards that well. [Me neither.]

Mandarin was tossed into space by Iron Man's Repulsor Beam in all the losses. The one game The Doom Patrol/Mandarin's Hand won (by me) I screened him with Mandarin.

chas said this was a real complicated, intricate scenario, on a very restrictive map - good luck newbies!

Some notes: The Hand Ninjas and S.H.I.E.L.D Agents weren't real factors. Too weak and/or easily tossed into space ("tossed"). Flyers are very (too?) strong. While Diablo could be tossed by Repulsor Beam easily, his Sleep Potion 14 was instant death to even flyers, if they were on sky spaces. Iron Man may be too strong for this scenario. He's certainly a counter to Mandarin.

While I like these teams, I'll add some more alternate units to mitigate/eliminate tossing, and/or eliminate flying, and/or replace the squads.

What, no mention of my two Classic Scape victories on the map after my sad defeats with the Supers? This was mostly by die rolling, as my Rechts scored with three Lethal Stings in two games! That's about as many as I've gotten with them in my entire 12 year Scape career!
