Musings of a Retrospective 'Scaper

I don't really have any idea why, but I believe a memoir is in order. Since I joined, I have:
  • Posted 1762 times
  • Been here 1 year, 4 months, 10 days
  • Become a Lifetime Site Supporter
  • Become a member of Club 11 for some reason.
  • Been almost banned twice.*
  • Found an avatar that stuck.
  • Written this entire blog post and then found myself accidentally clicking to another page. When I pressed back, the whole thing was gone.
  • Learned to write my blog posts in word documents and then post them.
  • Realized that giving and receiving neg reps isn't a huge deal.
  • Introduced 5 others to the addiction.
  • Experienced the effects of Heroscape as a gateway game, most notably Carcassone and Catan.
  • Learned to embrace the suck.
  • Accumulated a 6-1 CoN record.
  • Alongside my puppet buddies, bamboozled scorpiusx. When you convince scorp, you convince them all.
  • Watched the Hangout transform from a spam hole.
  • Discovered VirtualScape.
  • Made some customs, my favorites being Braxas Obama and Paylind the Human Governor.
  • Wondered why Hatamoto Taro costs too much.
  • Convinced myself that the playtesters designed Taelord perfectly. Any cheaper, or he would be broken in Omnicron builds.
  • Attended 3 tournaments.
  • More than quadrupled my 'scape collection.
  • Purchased from three of our Site Sponsors.
  • Made 1 trade.
  • Experienced the release of 2 waves.
  • Learned what a Naruto headband means on an avatar.
  • Planned to attend Gencon in 22 days!
  • Made a few friends.
  • Grown 4 inches taller (no joke).
  • Met Buddy Lee and NecroBlade, whoever those guys are.
  • Learned that people don't like binary polls.
For some reason, I just felt like doing this. Thank you all for making Heroscapers the most mature, kind, and close-knit Internet community I have ever set eyes on.

*Once, the admins thought I had multiple accounts because so many of my buddies use my computer for Heroscapers as well. The other time was when one of them got himself banned by impersonating Onacara on my computer without my knowledge. My buddy whined and complained to certain admins via AIM, and they considered a blanket ban on my IP address.

Fun post. Though that's TWO (to my knowledge) blogs I'm in right now which are not my own...it can only be a sign of the apocalypse.

Y'know, I'm thinking that on August 31, I might make one of these as my closing statement as a Site Supporter.

Can't you still make a blog without being a Site Supporter, or did they fix that? I used to have the admin power of seeing what page each user was viewing, but I was soon demoted....

I had both of those 'powers' but I told the admins about them and they fixed the problems.

I could neg-rep, see the threads people were viewing, and even delete my own posts (I couldn't do anything to anyone else's posts though.) It was weird.

The funny thing was that when I had them, I was still a little n00b so I didn't know they were abnormal powers. Good times....

If I'm still frequenting this site when I'm 45, there's a problem.

"whined and complained" that's pretty funny considering I'd be pretty peeved if someone was impersonating me!

No, my friend whined and complained because he got banned. He was so annoying that wanted to ban all of us.
