Round-up Post

There are now well over 300 comments on Truth's latest blog of the big news coming out of GenCon '09.

My comment, buried on page 10, I thought was worth posting here, as well as a comment by GrungeBob that most people probably missed.

Here's mine:
Quote:
My biggest fear about [D&D MS3] coincides with my biggest complaint in all of fantasy/rpg: scantily clad females.

Lots of guys love 'em. I hate 'em. They're inappropriate for my daughters, insult my wife, and won't help my son from becoming perverted.

One of the coolest things about Heroscape, thus far, has been the modest dress of the female characters. Kyntela Gwyn is, I think, the closest it gets to anything inappropriate and she's not really close.

I can't tell yet if that female character in this boxed set is 'scantily glad' or not, but I pray not, I really really hope not. D&D artwork I've seen overall is infested with it. Magic the Gathering eventually became immersed. Same for World of Warcraft. Comic books seemed to get more and more risque in the 3 years I was into them. The Heroscape comic and cartoon were bad--who drew that and chose to reproportion select areas of Raelin?

In response to this blog post, the figure proportions in Heroscape are already funny--that's one of the quirky things I like about Heroscape. Getting more skewed on that won't be a problem. If clothes start coming off, that will be a problem. The shirtless troll is fine.
Secondly, here is the comment from Grungebob:

Quote:
1. Play Heroscape as often as possible!
2. Tell your friends about it and get them to play!
3. Buy what you want or need, and don't buy anything that you don't like or don't need!
4. Attend events as much as possible.
5. Converse as intelegently as possible on our forums!
Do this, and we will do the rest. If it works as planned, the pay-off next year should be exciting and fun.
Do you think he would have said this if we were just getting more D&D in the future?

Relax, have a happy rest of the year and enjoy Wave 10. If you're still bidding on Agent Skahens on ebay, good for you. I'm out of that game while I wait for the next Special Collection to come along. Hopefully by then I'll be able to get some Aubrien Archers as well.
