Thread of the Week

This week's thread isn't brought to you by a regular, well known custom maker. It is brought to you by a brand new scaper with amazing talent. I would advise people to look at iceat's custom terrain thread for both the awesome stuff he has now, and what might come in the future.

Are you a jerk to noobs? Are you a compassionate helper of the miserably noobish? Are you someone who just ignores noobs? Perhaps you should Practice noob-post responses so you don't always send that new member running with his tail tucked between his legs. The only thing worse than a noob is the jerk who makes...

Our Image of the Week comes to you from the 3rd Annual DFW Team Tournament in Dallas this past weekend. Top honors went to Longheroscaper and his partner. In the photo above, who is that masked man? The first person to correctly identify the 'Scaper above will win a random booster pack from the Week@Scapers crew (One guess per person and team tournament participants aren't eligible for the prize).

Thread of the Week

Oogie_Da_Bruce is back! And he's discussing a possibility of a new type of Starter Set that has been mentioned before. They were called "Jump Start sets", the term coined by Elginb. The thread started as discussing possible ideas on how these could be done, whether it be 2 armies of 400-500 points each with enough terrain for a small game, or specialty armies of 400-500 points each sold with just the army and a little terrain specific...

Custom trees are mostly there to pretty up the battlefield and provide LOS blockage. But Jandarforever created some trees that have a functional component: they can be climbed and fired down from! And they look very good, too. I'm sure I'm with most 'Scapers when they say they can't wait for Jandarforever to put some foliage on them in order to add his creations to the many ways that folks have customized the way the game is played!

Marvel Spotlight: The Reinforcements Arrive?

Many MarvelScapers have long waited for the release of Marvel Wave 1: The Reinforcements Arrive. Unfortunately, we are still awaiting the release, but Garada has compiled a list of all the current customs and heroclix figures of that would be in Marvel Wave 1 to tie us over until that long awaited day.

Thread of the Week

For new players, one of the hardest parts of Heroscape is learning how to use the vast number of different figures out there. The Unit Strategy Review collection helps alleviate this problem by bringing some of the brightest minds together to run through the various strategies of each unit. Their newest release is on the Shades of Bleakewoode.

Did you know that trees are hollow? Nonexistantnonexister did not. He started a thread to declare just that. How did he come across this bit of wisdom? By chewing on the trees. Yes, the plastic trees from RttFF. The thread spun off into an absolutely hilarious and random lawl-fest. Here's the thread; hold onto your hats, folks, it gets ROFL-ly from here on out.

Back before Heroscapers.com, Bobbo created the Herospoofs as a way to poke fun at the various opinions and abilities of the units. Even though they may be old, they are still good for laughing out loud.

Jay Cain has contributed to our little community here by using his talents to build an outstanding Army Builder. It's very powerful, allowing you to see several statistics about your army and providing a variety of custom settings. Look for expansions and more features in Battleplan in the future!
