Tostino’s Pizza Rolls

Posted August 27th, 2019 at 10:23 PM by flameslayer93
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted in my blog! A lot of the same has happened while I’ve been away from it, along with some other fun things.

Firstly, Tostino’s Pizza Rolls are a godsend. They offer a quick bite to eat in the middle of the night when I get home. I’m also gaining weight. Woops. Gotta try and curb that.

Last week the radiator in my van finally took a green colored dump. Fortunately the mechanics were awesome and got it back to me that day, but not so fortunate was the price. I guess that was my birthday present for this year.

Along with that, LoveElemental and I also went to the local casino. That was in July, and we lost. At least it wasn’t thaaaat much money. We were there for a while too.

Speaking of LoveElemental, we set a date! I think. Gotta double check with her on what day it is, but I’m fairly certain it was gonna be in June of next year?

Also, it looks like we’re gonna try Starfinders...

A custom a day: A theoretical challenge

Posted March 13th, 2019 at 07:00 PM by flameslayer93
Here’s an interesting thought that popped into my head last night as I was trying to sleep:

Create 1 custom unit a day for X amount of time. A month, a season, a year. I wouldn’t have to actually purchase the figures used for the design, but it could be an interesting way to get many figures that are sitting around used if I had them.

Today, with a clearer mind, I realize that actually going through with this is quite difficult. Although, what may not be as difficult is averaging 1 custom unit a day. Thinking of the sheer number of designs sitting on MSE on my laptop, both ones that I’ve “released” in the Wave format and those that haven’t been (many many many more), I’d say that it might not be too difficult to average a custom a day, or even every other day. When I designed or chose existing customs from my old “block” of customs, I found it was easy to do a bunch at a time, coming back to add polish later.

Another part of my designs was the...

Strange Cravings

Posted March 7th, 2019 at 09:35 PM by flameslayer93
They started yesterday. My mouth was parched, but drooling. My knees buckled under my own weight. Food could not sate the hunger. Sleep was not refreshing, and I could barely rest a few hours before awakening. I stared into endless empty with desire.

To Scape.

Ok, most of the above is extremely untrue and only there for entertainment. But I’ve been craving some competitive scape, fiercely. We haven’t been able to attend any recent events due to financial and vehicular troubles, but hopefully in April and May I’ll get my cravings filled!

Now, I’ve no clue what the format in New Philly will be in May, but I do know what it is in April. 600 points, but everything must be Unique. That is a tantalizing challenge.

One interesting part of the format is that there are some cookie cutter armies that already exist. They all stand a notably better chance here than in other formats simply because the reduction of commons spam. I’ll...

You Know Donner and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen

Posted January 18th, 2019 at 02:47 AM by flameslayer93
But do you know the most famous reindeer of all?

It's 2019! I know I'm late. But that's not the point of this post.

So, in spirit of the new year, I think I should try to set a resolution for the year. I'm not entirely sure what I should try to achieve. And then, like virtually all new year's resolutions, probably fail miserably at it.

Or, maybe not! My goal for 2017 was to get into the competitive 'scape scene, and my goal for 2018 was to further my relationship with my then girlfriend, Tina. Both of those worked out, and now I need to think of something for 2019.

I have plenty of low hanging fruits I could reach for including:

1) Save money! Doubt it, I don't want to devote myself to money.
2) Start excersising! I know I've put on some weight, but even I can't take this seriously.
3) Start going to bed at a reasonable time. I work second shift...
4) Squeeze more hours out of a day so I can...

Don’t disrupt the classroom!

Posted December 21st, 2018 at 09:39 PM by flameslayer93
With the latest C3V release, (Wave 21, pack 2), I thought I’d post ideas about it’s ‘Disruptor’ unit Boreos. I got a couple playtests in with him, and I’m looking forward to playing more of him, with and without Talingul. I’m loving how he is a rather potent Disruptor class unit, and has a few builds where he could shine as the MVP (or runner up).

But first, I should define a Disruptor class unit. Basically, it’s a unit who’s job is to deny your opponent strong turns. The strongest Disruptors are Deathreavers. They can stall out melee units by screening them and taking away valuable attacks by simply leaving engagement with them. They don’t do as much harm to ranged units who can still shoot, but they are effective at gumming up the map.

Other classic ones include Gladiatrons, Major X17, and Air Elementals (who disrupt in a similar way to Boreos). Sadly, all of these units are best at disrupting melee units.

Also, while they don’t deny movement...
