My Thoughts on DnD 'Scape
Posted January 9th, 2010 at 03:38 PM by MegaSilver
I got DnD Scape a few days ago, and I am surprised at how much I like it now, at least for gameplay.
I like story-driven game objectives, such as in this Scape and SotM.
What really annoys me is that DnD has been thoroughly integrated into Classic Scape. I prefer a seperate story, such as with MarvelScape. The story seems to influence Valhalla's direction itself, when the Black dragon mentions Utgar's plans. I will continue to treat the lineage of DnD Scape as I did with MarvelScape -- it plays by ClassicScape's rules, but does not directly influence the game's story.
(I still like the DnD Scape, don't get me wrong.)
Now, for the characters, let me say that the Feral Troll is tough. I thought it was a bad idea at first to have the Troll to go against 3 Heros in the first room, as it would loose easily. I lost the game 2 times in a row, in the 1st Room. Its abilities allow it live long and strike strong. I learned two things for the first room: Do not split the team, as it will kill them one at a time; and do not let it get on top of the 2 shadow spaces in the heighest area of the room. 3 defense + 8 Life + Regenerate makes it tough to crack.
I'll blog more later of my thoughts of Dnd Scape at a later time.

I don't think shadow tile effects stack, as it says "on at least one tile", not "for each tile". With jungle next to him as well, it would be 3 def, but I don't think that would be very visually appealing.

No, its plus one for the shadow tiles and then one for height that equals the three defense.

Ah, okay. Forgot about the height.
I can't wait to get my set(s), though. Something is just extremely appealing in this army: Feral Troll x4- 360 Othkurik- 500 |

If you think the Troll is good against the Party, try Road to the Underdark, and face off with Jotun. It took me even longer to kill him than the Troll!

Yeah, trying to toss Tandros with Jotun is a good time.

I don't really like how the stories are shared as well, so it's nice to see someone who agrees with me on at least half of my opinion.
