A Reminder of What is Valuable

It was sad, disappointing, and sometimes frustrating, yesterday, when this site went down because of the huge demand on the system from the pre-release party.

Yet, sitting through the evening hours and early this morning without HeroScapers.com did serve to remind me of how much I value this site. Some of the things I missed in those few, short, hours:
(1) New information.
(2) Friendly chatter.
(3) Seeing friends.
(4) Seeing great images of the game and figures.
(5) Giving and getting rep.
(6) Meeting or welcoming new people.
(7) Getting PMs and sending replies.

The list could go on and on (but if it did, I'd get a smiley for number 8, right?).

Anyway, thanks to truth, funrun, Xloti, and all the others who worked so hard to restore (and improve) this place for all of us. We missed is while it was down. We'll value it just a little bit more now that it is up and running again.

Im right there with ya Rev. I really learned how much this site is apart of my daily life. Im lucky enough to have a computer job and can check it frequently. I was lost without being able to check out new customs, maps, and overall everything else that makes this site great. I also send out my thanks to all who put in the time to getting this site back up.

I know what you mean... not being able to hop on and browse customs, maps, ideas, and so forth left me wondering what to do. None of the other forums I frequent could fill the gap... I think that really speaks for the site, and the community on it.

I'm right there with you Rev. I got home yesterday after work and picking up the kids, turned on the computer and headed for Heroscapers. I see that message and my heart sank, not so much for the release party, but everything that this site offers.

Heroscapers is like my blankie, please don't take my blankie away again.

If I'm not working or helping around the house, Heroscapers is usually up on my computer. Sometimes a forum is just a forum, but when this place went missing I felt as if I were cut off from a good friend. Really, that's what this place represents--friends and acquaintances (who happen to like the same children's board game).

Thanks for articulating that, Rev.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Rev. Thanks for making the rest of us feel like we weren't alone in our feelings during the blackout.

MCS, you might not want that there. That happens to be right into your files. You should upload the images to an image hosting website, like Photobucket, or apply for Contributor status here so you can upload the images.
