FFC #37 - Mid-Career Crisis???

TGRF's Fan Fiction Chronicles - Entry #37

Short story: End Come will, short of a miracle, not be released by Halloween.

Long Story: It seems like every now and then, I'll come on here and post one of these blogs, proclaiming triumphantly that I have found 'what I've been missing', or I've 'solved all of my writing problems.' If that were really the case, I would have solved all of my problems enough times to put me at the top of the NYT bestseller list for a year. And yet I still find myself scratching my head over simple things I can't seem to grasp, and marveling at basic story structures which I know I would never be able to create.

So... yes, something is definitely still missing. I'm determined to figure out why I keep having these problems with my writing, and I don't want to begin Eternity until I know how to fix them.

What are these problems? All I have are symptoms, which have been around for years, slowly building...

C3G Strategy - October 2019

Posted October 19th, 2019 at 07:38 PM by HS Codex

C3G Strategy Guide
Foot Clan Ninja
Author: Lazy Orang

I love the 2003 Turtles cartoon that I watched when I was a kid, so I’ve been wanting to review a TMNT unit for a while now. The Foot Clan is one of the more intriguing and evocative units found in that range, so let’s take a look, shall we?

Analyzed Statistics

Left Box Breakdown
Species – Human (only really allows them to boost adjacent civilians)
Uniqueness – Unique Squad (4 squad members)
Class – Ninja (allows them to bond with Hand Ninja, receive a move boost from Karai’s Ninja Leadership, and be moved by Hun’s Foot Clan Alliance)
Personality – Devout (believe what you will, this does nothing)
Size/Height – Medium 5 (manoeuverable,

IF YOU CAN’T TAKE THE HEAT… by Dignan
Glyphs: Dagmar (Initiative +8 ), Gerda (Defense +1)
Astro: Seishin Samurai x2, Masha Shingai, Tomoe Gozen, Izumi Samurai, Kozuke Samurai
Nathan: Arrow Gruts x2, Swog Riders x3, Blade Gruts x2, Grimnak

Note: Seishin played with 4 defense instead of 5.

Surviving Units:
Tomoe Gozen (unwounded), 2x Kozuke Samurai
~170 Points Left

Game Summary:
The Samurai forces made a beeline for Gerda. Nathan split his attention between Arrow and Blade Gruts, but managed to do a good job of picking off some enemies while they developed. Unfortunately lost most of his forces to lava field damage, but the Samurai were regularly whiffing attacks and did no damage for the first half of the game to counterbalance this.

Eventually, Masha Shingai and Tomoe Gozen managed to tie down Grimnak and block off a key chokepoint, protecting his Samurai brethren for enough time to turn...

Seishin vs. Durgeth Ravagers

Updated November 23rd, 2019 at 03:44 AM by Astroking112
IF YOU CAN'T TAKE THE HEAT... by Dignan
Glyphs: Dagmar (Initiative +8 ), Valda (Move +2)
Astro: 3x Tagawa Samurai Archers, 3x Seishin Samurai, Hatamoto Taro (400)
Angi: Rujin, 4x Durgeth Ravagers, Siiv (395)

Surviving Units:
3x TSA, Hatamoto Taro (unwounded), 2x Seishin
~245 Points Left
About 75 points more were destroyed, so closer than points imply. Probably ~130 is fair.

Game Summary:
The Durgeth were able to claim Valda initially, though the TSA spent that time gaining height and were able to clear them off without too much trouble. This proved problematic for the Ravagers, who struggled to reach the well-developed archers backed by Hatamoto Taro.

Siiv then came in and absolutely wrecked house against the Samurai, who weren't able to kill him until he had done a considerable amount of damage. He also wasn't slowed by the Seishin on account of his Disengage. Once he did finally fall, the...
