If You Were a Jedi...

Posted May 13th, 2009 at 05:43 PM by NecroBlade
Warning: the following is based on the Order 66 novel, part of the Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss. If you don't want anything spoiled, stop reading now.

Here's the situation:

You've been taken away from your parents and raised from a young age to believe in the Force, all that is good, and defend the galaxy from evil. You're a female Jedi. Well, recent ex-Jedi. You, along with much of the rest of the galaxy and at least a few fellow saber-swingers, feel like the Order has been falling apart lately and no longer performs as it should. Following in the footsteps of your fellow former Jedi and friend, you have just quit the Order. One of the main reasons for doing so is that you feel the other Jedi, even the Council, have no compassion for the new clone army. They are simply using them as a means of ending the war.

As a Jedi general, you, on the other hand, have gotten personal with them. You see them as men, not clones,

Random Happenstance

Posted August 28th, 2008 at 06:31 PM by NecroBlade
I just got home from campus after waiting about 20 minutes for the shuttle. While I was waiting - under cover, thankfully, for it's raining yet again - I read some more Republic Commando: True Colors. By chance I got up and walked out into the rain, then came back to stand against a brick pillar instead of sitting on the steps. All that isn't important, except it's how I ended up where I was for the rest of this story.

As I was leaning and reading, I moved my hands. I can't remember exactly why, probably just to get a different angle on my book, but when I did I felt brief contact with something. Lowering Star Wars, I looked around and saw a wasp on the ground only a few feet away.

First there was the "Oh crap, I could've been stung" reaction. But immediately I noticed something odd (other than the wasp I hadn't known was around): he had a broken wing. Either the sudden appearance of my hand in his flight path or his resulting impact on the ground did

Coming Soon: 6 Player Epic Heroscape Campaigns

Updated June 15th, 2009 at 05:19 PM by NecroBlade
I've been slowly updating this blog for some time, but I figured I'd put it in a thread since it would likely get more views. I'll update this post and post a reply to let you know whenever I update the blog (http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=21893).

----------

Like Heroscape? (Duh.) Like Warcraft, Starcraft, Age of Empires, or Empire Earth? Want to play both in the same game?

About a week ago, my friends were over for some Heroscape, and after a game or two decided they wanted to figure out how to turn it into a world-wide, turn-based Risk-like game. So just about every day since then we've been brainstorming and playtesting and I've gotta say it's turning into something really fun and I can't wait to play it every day.

My friends and I all know the rules, but we have yet to write them down. We will do so soon, though, and I will post them here when they're ready. Just know that it will require a lot of terrain, a

Peasant: Fight for Freedom

Posted May 25th, 2008 at 01:26 AM by NecroBlade
Updated August 2nd, 2008 at 01:22 PM by NecroBlade
While I've got nothing much better to do, I just thought I'd toss out a game idea I came up with a while ago, but have never (yet) made anything of.

The game, as per the title of the blog, is called Peasant: Fight for Freedom. The basic premise is that a crime was committed in your kingdom, and the offense is punishable by death. You and the other player(s) are all suspected of the crime, though, and since there is not enough evidence to convict any one of you (the crime was obviously committed by an individual, though), the king has decided to hold a contest.

The loser of the contest will be beheaded, while the winner(s) get a place in the king's court as jester! Game play would be fast and light, with the focus on gaining "laughter points" with the audience. Each peasant (player) gets to dress up in a silly (or humiliating) costume and torture each other for the audience's amusement with things such as rotten tomatoes, releasing head-butting goats...
