Using ChatGPT for writing
@TheAverageFan
For sure. There were several issues with the Dilmir stories, one of which literally took me like 3 weeks to figure out, which I know GPT could have solved in a couple of prompts. I've already used it to solve several issues with my novels. Sometimes I use the scenario it provides, sometimes the scenario just gives me a better idea.
Basically if you find yourself having questions which another person (with any given skillset) could possibly answer, you could benefit from using GPT. ~TGRF. |

Using ChatGPT for writingI might have to try this out sometime. The waiting-for-head-to-figure-out-problem blocks are pretty big time-wasters, after all

Writing Update #6 - AprilSure I'd be curious to see how the process works, if it's useful to these writing stumps

Writing Update #6 - April
@TheAverageFan
I'm drawing the line at letting ChatGPT actually write the plot, but it seems perfectly capable of understanding scenarios with problems and giving me solutions. Oftentimes I'll manage to get myself into a scenario where characters need to do something completely contrary to their motivations, and GPT is able to understand the scenario I describe and give me ideas on how to fix it. I'm thinking about writing a separate blog post on how I use GPT to help with writing. Is that something you would be interested in? ~TGRF. |

Writing Update #6 - AprilChatGPT, huh? Are you just using it for spitballing ideas or can it actually provide useful insights for making sure the plot outline is watertight?
"X happens" scenes are always difficult to iron out. I always have to wait for inspiration to strike to find the right linchpin to tie everything together coherently. I don't know how well-written stuff makes it look so effortless. ~TAF |
