D3

I just opened my D3 this afternoon.

I've played some games, and looked at some of the figures.

My opinions:

Death Chasers of Thesk:
The Orc Battle Rush is really interesting, and it gives them a huge advantage, especially on smaller maps. The bonding doesn't provide too many people to bond with, but the ones they do bond with work just fine. Their offensive capabilities are amazing, and they're extremely cheap.

Horned Skull Brutes:
They kind of seem like an elite squad. 4/4 provides them with staying power and the ability to destroy most foes. Their Barge Into Battle didn't get used much, but I'm anxious to try it out. With their other power (name eluding me), it was great, as it prolonged their lives even further.

Ice Troll Beserker:
Awesome theme, but he does seem a little small. He's also a bit fragile for his appearance, even on a snow map. (3 DCoT killed him in one turn.) However, his charge is...

Finally...

Posted November 14th, 2010 at 12:47 PM by Fen_Hydra
Again, I have something of pretty much no value, but I just want to share. (Also as a warning)

A while ago, on Labor Day, we had our grandparents come over from Minnesota. I had all my 'Scape dominating the family room, so my dad made me put it all in the basement. Not very fun when you have ~ 4 rotv, 5 sotm, 4 bftu, 4 fota, and many other small sets.

So that was done after a bit. Then our grandparents came, and I got pretty bored. Later, they left, and I soon went to school.

A while later, I felt like playing some 'Scape. I then remembered where it was, went down, and spent a lot of time trying to find all the materials to build a 1 BFTU map. So I brought that up, and slooowly brought up more tiles.

As of yesterday evening, I brought up my last tile, and I have now decided to do everything I can to keep it on the main level. (My basement is really cold) The amount of time spent was not fun. (Now I'm not looking forward to moving...

Beginning of 'Scape

Posted November 3rd, 2010 at 06:32 PM by Fen_Hydra
Another quick blog, that has no real value to anyone, but I just wanted to say this.

It all really began in '04. I was 6 years old, my 7th birthday coming up. I was in Target, and noticed this really cool looking game with dragons on it. So I said to my dad, who was with me, something like: "Look at that! That looks really cool! Can I please please please get that?" I'm not exactly sure what I said, but it was something like that. So he said something like, "Maybe," and we moved on.

Now, that was in the summer (I think). Now, it's December, after my birthday (the 7th), and Christmas is coming. Like any now 7 year old, I was really excited.

We kind of have a tradition for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we open a game or two, for the family to play. So I was outside, playing on the 24th, when finally we came in, ate, and opened the presents. One of them was the Rise of the Valkyrie master set. I was really excited, and opened it...

Old Walmart Experience

Posted October 28th, 2010 at 01:13 PM by Fen_Hydra
I thought I'd share with you an old experience at Walmart.

So it was in summer, a one or two years ago. I was at my local Walmart, looking around for any new 'Scape. After wandering around the store for a bit, (I think my dad went off somewhere else), I came to the toys section. I browsed passed legos and similar stuff, and came to the games section. The first thing I noticed: there was a few RTFF sets lying there! Then getting excited, I noticed at least 4 TT sets. There were also several VW sets. So I grabbed all of the sets, and ran to find my dad. I managed to convince him to buy them for me, so we went to the check-out area. Just as he was putting the sets on the moving-thing,
Spoiler Alert!

Moving...

It's official. My family is moving to Arizona this summer. We're going to the area around Phoenix.

It'll be my first move that I remember. I've been in Green Bay for at 11 years. (Out of almost 13 years.)

Major news, a bit in the future though, but I just thought I'd let you guys know.

Overall, though, I'd say I'm looking forward to it for about 3 reasons:
1) During the summer, when it's really hot, I have an excuse to stay inside and play 'scape.
2) The winters will be a whole lot better.
3) If we're going to move, this will be the best time. (I'd be finishing 8th grade here, and going into High School in AZ.)
