Castle Renovation

Lack of visual detail on your castle set got you down?

We've got just the solution your looking for. A fast easy way to touch up your castle, to bring it on par with all of the rest of your Heroscape gear.
You see, nearly everything that comes out for Heroscape employs a technique known in the painting world as: Washing. "Washing" is a technique in which you add thinned-down paint or ink to a figure to emphasize the deep parts -- effectively creating shadows where there really aren't any.
Here you can see washing used in various Heroscape releases:

Applying a "wash" to your Heroscape castle is quick and easy! Even if you have zero painting skills. Grungebob has supplied us with his secret formula to a professional looking wash:
"This is just a squirt of black Folkart paint (probably no more than a 1/2 teaspoon), 2 tablespoons of Future floor wax, and 2 tablespoons of tap water. The Future allows the wash to stick to the plastic on the castle. It should cling to the plastic and not bead up. If it beads up, add more Future as it is the ingredient that makes the wash cling to the plastic.. If it is too thick, add water. Glop the stuff on the area you want to wash. Do this alone or two sections at a time not bothering with precision. Let it stand for about 1 minute and then wipe off with a cheap paper towel. I used tissue at first but it was too absorbant and sucked the wash out of the recesses. I did not try an old rag but I bet it would be perfect."
There you have it folks, its just that easy! Other heroscapers have already put it to the test and all have met with success.

Of course you can always count on heroscaper Cupid's Art to bring on the awe factor. Check out what he did with the castle door!! :O

I want to do this so bad to my castle pieces. Too bad my Wal-Mart doesn't sell Future. Is the floor wax necessary, or is there some other home remedies? I dont want to search my state for bloody floor wax.

EDIT: Forgive me for Necroing, I was just curious

After all these years, I just used this method to wash my two castle sets yesterday. The results are amazing! I did not personally use as much water as was recommended because the pieces were not coming out dark enough. I apologize for necroing an old blog but I just had to share!
