What’s next? Pizza Delivery?

Posted May 24th, 2018 at 10:21 PM by flameslayer93
I’m mildly worried about losing my job. Not because I did something I shouldn’t have. No, the place would be shutting down. That leaves 3 of us in the house without a job. I don’t know if this is the end of this gig or not. Only the city can decide that. Oh, I work in a chemicals plant.

I’m young. I can get another job with fair ease. But it would stink trying to find a job paying halfway ok for a rookie. Then of course starting over in a field. Who really wants to start over their their career? There’s other places in the area though. I could try looking at those. Maybe.

I could try going back to my old job at the warehouse. It doesn’t pay well, but something is better than nothing. Plus I imagine I’d be able to start right away. I can’t wait for too long to find something, especially with 2 other family members out of work. I may be a lazy millenial, but I ain’t that lazy. *chuckles*

I don’t know what I’ll have to do about my van. I know (basically)...

FFC #14 - The Development for HiS is COMPLETED!

Posted May 23rd, 2018 at 07:23 PM by TGRF
TGRF's Fan Fiction Chronicles - Entry 14

A few short minutes ago, I finished putting the final touches on the outline to Horizon in Sight, otherwise known as 'Dan's Tale'. Writing will begin within a few days. The 'specs' for HiS, as well as the writing progress once I begin, can be located in my sig.

I've spoken with Bigga, and we've agreed to write and proofread each of the three sections of HiS one at a time. This means I could start releasing the first section while the second is being written, meaning potentially a much closer release date. I'm not making any promises though. I want to hear Bigga's thoughts on the first section before I decide to release it. I might just wait until the whole thing is written like I normally do. Time will tell.

In the meantime, for those of you who have read The Quest for Valhalla, it is very important that you do not spoil anything. The Quest and HiS are vastly different. However, HiS is based on the premise...

FFC #13 - The Improvements in HiS

Posted May 17th, 2018 at 03:00 PM by TGRF
TGRF's Fan Fiction Chronicles - Entry 13

Anyone who's been following my fan fictions probably knows that I try to use each one to get progressively better at writing. Ever since Dilmir, I've been narrowing down on specific aspects of my writing in each fan fiction, trying to improve them.

Horizon in Sight is, at the moment, the final fan fiction to do that. (Knowing how things go, there will probably be some issue Bigga finds with it which I will then want to correct with another fan fiction, but we aren't there yet.) I figured now that the development is nearly complete (just smoothing the outline out), I can tell you all what improvements you can expect in HiS.

My last fan fiction, A Chance of Success, was... well, I won't say it was bad. I wouldn't say it was overly good though, either. It was just kind of there.

The main thing I tried to improve on in ACoS was twists. Unfortunately, I didn't quite know how. Instead of creating...

Well met!

On 5/16, chas and I met to formally playtest Kha for SoV.

We utilized the 16 Card Draft, with the specific sets of cards that can be found here.

We managed to play 6 (10 Round) games, 2 per set of cards, on a map patterned after Sirocco by Mad_Wookie, as follows:

Game 1

chas' army: Akumaken, Red Ants of Aunstrom x 2, Chen Tang, Cormin the Dark.

kolakoski's army: Jarek Guy, Venoc Vipers x 2, Estivara, Kha.

Kha was strong and lucky. Round

Draft Test: Emilia and Big Earth

Posted May 12th, 2018 at 02:02 AM by flameslayer93
I decided to run a draft game against @LoveElemental in an effort to teach her how to use the actual Online Heroscape App through Google Docs and to also teach her about the drafting format for army building.

Plenty of appreciation to @kolakoski for reminding me that Drafting is an actual thing too lol.

We started out by choosing 16 units to be in the draft pool. These cards could range from Official, C3V/SoV, and our customs. We went back and forth picking units pretty much at random lol.

The pool resulted in the following 16 entries:
1. Sienna (Unique Hero)
2. Deathwalker 8000
3. Emilia Clair (Unique Hero)
4. Sir Hawthorne
5. Dund
6. Ashigaru Yari
7. Rastuci Sunce (Common Squad)
8. Protectors of Ullar
9. Ne Gok Sa
10. Mohican River Tribe
11. Wolves of Badru
12. Grand Earth Elemental (Uncommon Hero)
13. Kaemon Awa
14. Kursus
15. Grimnak...
