DISCLAIMER: This is not official. This is a fan made custom project.

C3V Public Announcements Thread
This is where you can go to get started with C3V (Classic Customs Creators of Valhalla).
This thread lists all the units C3V has released: C3V Books of Index.

C3V brings you Wave CV8, otherwise known as:

WAVE 21!!!

Curse of Stormtorn Peak

Pack 1
HEROES OF A BYGONE AGE
Yi Feng - Vydar
Chen Tang - Jandar
Zhen Yuan - Utgar
Master Lao Xin - Ullar
Locksley - Ullar

We kick off a new year and a new wave with Heroes of a Bygone Age, a pack of 5 unique heroes from Earth's history.

=======================

The four monks in action.

Yi Feng

PDF

The first hero is Yi Feng, a monk who fights for Vydar. Yi Feng practices the Iron Shirt discipline of kung fu, focusing his energy to harden his body against blows and make it easier for him to retaliate.

The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure. The figure name is Arashi #31, 32, 33 from the Indy set.

=======================

Chen Tang

PDF

Our second monk in the pack is Chen Tang, fighting for Jandar. His signature technique, alternately called Cinnabar Palm or Quivering Palm, is known as "the blow of deferred death." A Quivering Palm strike makes its effect felt long after the blow was delivered.

The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure. The figure name is Boon #40, 41, 42 from the Indy set.

=======================

Zhen Yuan

PDF

Zhen Yuan has two fighting techniques at his disposal, making him a dynamic warrior. First is Eagle Claw, using animal instincts to take advantage of his opponent's weaknesses. Combine this with his Whirlwind Assault and sworn hatred for his enemies, the Japanese, it is easy to see why Utgar is glad to summon Zhen Yuan.

The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure. The figure name is Shang Chi #12 from the Avengers set.

=======================

Master Lao Xin

PDF

Master Lao Xin, the final monk of the pack, was summoned by Ullar. He leads all monks, across all generals, as their Sifu: a master, teacher, or leader. A master of many martial arts, Lao Xin's attacks never miss their target.

The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure. The figure name is Seven Deadly Brothers #005 from the Superman set.

=======================

Locksley with some released and unreleased friends.

Locksley

PDF

To continue our budding Merry Men faction, Ullar has summoned Locksley. Whether this is a given name or merely indicative of his origin, no one can be sure. But with his Brigands, and with more Merry Men on the way, Locksley leads his band in the purest form of vigilante justice: he steals from the rich, and gives to the poor.

The figure used for this unit is a DnD Minis figure from the Blood War set. Its model number and name is 16/Free League Ranger.

I absolutely love the new monks. They'll be an interesting faction to play with. Master Lao Xin is probably my favorite.

These guys look great! I was a little disappointed that it seemed like the monks would remain stand-alone like the cowboys, but the last one was the Kantono Daishi that I was looking for. It's great to see the monks finally have a chance to be somewhat viable!

Also, Locksley may just get me to invest in getting myself the Merry Men. His use of Treasure Glyphs is fantastically thematic and unique!

Five nice new heroes for a happy new year !
Master Lao Xin is a real leader (not Master Win Chiu) for the monks.

As always, excellent work by the C3V team. Thank you for all your hard work in bringing us these marvelous customs.

Also, I don't recognize the other archer in Locksley's friends. Was that figure in the miniature preview thread?

Great work C3V! Thanks for the new additions!

Just a quick comment that when I first read them over last night, I really didn't like Master Xin's Sifu ability. It felt clunky and custom-y. It has sank in a little bit since then, but I'm still not super thrilled with it. I do however love what it does for the monks as a faction and the overpriced Shaolins. It just seems like it could have been done in a more classic way.

Aside from that bit of friendly critique, this is great stuff as always! Look forward to playing with them. Thanks for your hard work!

The wording is slightly different than we might have liked (i.e. Kato Katsuro wording), but that was a concession we made to fit the powers all on the card.

Love all the monk powers.

Only disappointment is seeing Shang-Chi (Marvel's best Martial Arts character) in Utgar's faction.

He was wearing the red pants when generals got assigned. I'm sure C3G can provide for your Shang-Chi needs.

Next up: a lawman leader...

Very cool to see the Monks back in action! Although ironically Locksey is my favorite of this pack. Both thematic and powerful

Love how thematic they are, especially Locksley.
I also love how several factions are getting rounded out in new and interesting ways.

Keep up the great work!!

Thanks for the new customs. They are appreciated but I am surprised that there is now a Monk for almost every faction. I'm guessing C3V wanted to follow the trend with Ninjas and Cowboys but I'm not sure that was necessary. These could have all been Ullar heroes. Before the Nottingham Brigand, C3V only had 4 new units for Ullar while others have certainly gained many more.

The colors of each miniature matches other generals so a nice touch but it makes more logical sense from a story standpoint that they would follow the same general - especially if their Sifi has also been drafted in the Battle of All Time - and they'd likely be in the same army builds.

But story versus stats is something that isn't often a consideration. There are several C3V figures without any Bio or background .. but I know that is important for other custom creators.

Anyway - thank you for keeping the game going and bringing your creativity to life and sharing with the rest of the Scapers.
