With most of it previewed, and much delightful speculation and discussion by the pundits, it seems clear that Wave 9 has blunted the soulborg scourge, and given us some new figures with interesting powers, all successfully designed to enrich the game without changing its essential balance (Hear! Hear!
).

Almost All) will, of course, be shortly in possession of most, if not all, of Wave 9, and I can expect to face them, perhaps as soon as the coming week (certainly in proxie form). As for myself, the three sets of Romans I ordered came today!
I will not, however, be purchasing anything from Wave 9 in the near future, unless I am blown away by the new Ninja or otherwise overwhelmed by the as yet unrevealed figures in the wave (or win the lottery). As it stands, Wave 9 makes my relatively retro army philosophy even more viable.
