Coming Soon: 6 Player Epic Heroscape Campaigns

Posted August 16th, 2008 at 11:13 AM by NecroBlade

I've been slowly updating this blog for some time, but I figured I'd put it in a thread since it would likely get more views. I'll update this post and post a reply to let you know whenever I update the blog (http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=21893).

----------

Like Heroscape? (Duh.) Like Warcraft, Starcraft, Age of Empires, or Empire Earth? Want to play both in the same game?

About a week ago, my friends were over for some Heroscape, and after a game or two decided they wanted to figure out how to turn it into a world-wide, turn-based Risk-like game. So just about every day since then we've been brainstorming and playtesting and I've gotta say it's turning into something really fun and I can't wait to play it every day.

My friends and I all know the rules, but we have yet to write them down. We will do so soon, though, and I will post them here when they're ready. Just know that it will require a lot of terrain, a

Dateline: 8-23-08, Fairborn Ohio. OVAH Tourney Report

Posted August 25th, 2008 at 10:20 AM by SuperflyTNT
Marduk is the MAN.

I say that because of the experience that I had on Saturday at the Ohio Valley Association of Heroscapers (OVAH) Tournament. It was held at a quaint little bookstore...

located in Fairborn, Ohio. This store has a basement with about 16 gaming tables, and was full of fellow Heroscapers when I arrived at about 11:40. The town of Fairborn looked really quaint, so I walked around a bit before heading to the games store, and there was an excellent used books shop featuring a few choice Frank Herbert and Robert Heinlein novels, although they were pretty yellowed so I passed on picking them up.

As I entered the store I noticed that the place was rife with Warhammer and D&D Minis gear, but to the right as you walked in there was a full display of HEROSCAPE small and large expansions. I walked a hair further and in the display case to the left they had some isocohedrons (20

Just_a_Bill's RotV-box Heroscape Collection Storage System

Posted August 25th, 2008 at 11:46 PM by Just_a_Bill
Updated August 26th, 2008 at 12:13 AM by Just_a_Bill

Several months ago I mouthed off about my cheapo storage system that's almost entirely based on RotV boxes. Well, here's the visual tour. Unfortunately this is more of a vanity page than a tutorial; if you want to try these stunts at home, you'd probably need to modify my methods to accommodate your particular collection anyway. Also, the images here are quite sub-par; my digitial camera is old and I am a terrible photographer. Don't bother clicking any of these pictures to try to zoom; I made them all exactly 400 pixels wide for the sake of browser efficiency (and because they'd look even worse if blown up!)

Let's start with what the boxes look like in my game closet:
Almost my entire collection is in RotV boxes. My rulebooks, synergy charts, etc. are in that 1/2-inch white view binder on the right.

Each box has one or more...

Ask Papa-'Scape

Hello, boys and girls (please forgive me, girls, for not listing you first, but there seem to be so many more boys here that I thought I had better list them first, and, I used to be one, many, many years ago, myself)!

This is the first installment of a new feature of this blog which Revdyer has so kindly allowed me to use. (Yes, for the literary sleuths out there, he and I are one; but that is neither here nor there when it comes to Papa-'Scape. Oh, and I am not blue in color nor in mood.) The purpose of this blog will be to answer the more subtle etiquette questions concerning HeroScape. We will not be dealing with the more intensive rules questions, which can be posted in the Official Rules and FAQ Section. Here we will be treating the gentler niceties of the game.

I begin, today, with two questions from eager readers (very eager, since they read this before it was even thought of!).

Dear Papa-'Scape. When my friend uses Grimnak to chomp...
