Ok, and not on to yet more cards. We have a lot more to cover. It is kind of fun to go through all of these cards one by one and give a quick meaning to each of them. The funny thing is you could probably list a hundred or so key words for each card, but I don't have the time or space for that. I just want to give you all a glimpse into it. If you find it interesting then there are plenty of resources online to find out more about it. There are also some pretty craptacular ones.. hmm, maybe I will review them once I am towards the end of this topic of my blog.

All of these cards are from Timothy Lantz's Archeon Tarot. I am using these images WITH his permission. If you would like to see more of his outstanding artwork please visit his website.

We left off with card 6 "the lovers" and now we will continue along with:

Card 7
The Chariot

The Chariot represents in a nutshell being in control of mind, body, and spirit. The nice thing about the card is that if you notice the horses are blue (mind) and red (spirit). The body of course being in the middle.

The chariot also represents determination and focus. If you see behind the "chariot" is the sun which represents happiness and fulfillment. There are "stars" within the sun that represent a guiding light. The artwork is very well done and shows all of these things very clearly.

Card 8

The Strength card represents.. Strength. It is a card that means willpower, good health, conviction, and courage. I think that putting the lion on the card was the perfect choice of an animal that represents all of those things. Granted a rhino may have been stronger but the lion ads a spec of pride in these virtues. The sun is pictured on the card as well adding to the imagery of happiness and fulfillment.

Card 9
The Hermit

The Hermit is a special card for me. Some of you that have seen my banner at the top of this blog now know what the imagery comes from if you had ever wondered. The Hermit is my signifier card. That means he is the one card that represents "me" in the tarot. Each person has their own signifier in the deck. I could tell you yours if you were curious, but I would need your birthday (just month and day not year).

The Hermit is not just the old guy that sits in the woods and keeps to himself. In Tarot the Hermit is self reliant, self aware, and is full of insight. The Hermit does not go into "hiding" because he hates people or anything, he goes into hiding more to help himself. If I were to pull the card in a reading it might mean that you need some alone time for example. The Hermit might also mean that the person is lonely. It just depends on who you are and what you like. Me having many children, I value my alone time when I am able to have it. lol

I think the Hermit card fits me to a tee as most of the things that I enjoy doing, I do best when I am alone. I don't like crowded places, and I am not really all that social until I get to know the person. (which is difficult since I don't go out of my way to find people). This could be taken as a negative to some, but to me it is just fine.

Anyway.. unto the next card.

Card 10
Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune! No, it is not the gameshow! The wheel of fortune is kind of like that though I guess. This card often means good fortune! It could also mean that something is unpredictable, and or just destiny itself. In most cases this card just represents the randomness of things. I prefer to look at it more as good karma rather then wealth.

I was really hoping to go through a few more cards but we have one heck of a strom blowing through here right now and I need to get off the computer.

So, I will try and get some more posted for you tomorrow. IF not then at least by the weekend.

Chat at you later, and as before. Thanks for letting me show off some of my other hobby.

Wow, the Chariot is really beautiful... knowing all of the little bits (blue and red, for example) definitely adds.

And I wouldn't mind knowing my signifier card, if you don't mind... birthday's December 5th.

lol, yeah the Chariot is pretty .. umm pretty.
There is a lot of symbolism to detect in tarot decks if you know what you are looking for. Sometimes it is neat to just question why an artist may have put an interesting thing on the card.
