Custom Minotaurs

Heroscape provides players with a massive selection of figures, but no matter how many we have, there are still some fantasy staples that have not made their way to us as official figures...yet.
Infinitymax and Atmospro made some great custom cards for minotaurs: Cerunnos and The Brothers Tor. I wanted figures to use for them and came across some suitable ones. The blue minotaur is simply a pre-painted figure from Reaper's Legendary Encounters line. I just mounted him on an HS base and he was ready to go.
The other two are Mage Knight figures that I have always liked (and which InfinityMax used on his custom card). These needed a lot of touch up, because, as with most early Mage Knight figures, the paint jobs are atrocious. They cleaned up well and look quite imposing on the battlefield.
Pretty simple stuff for my first blog. I will be updating this blog with new custom projects as they are completed or as I work on them.
If you enjoy looking at miniature images, check out my custom figure threads:

You will find all sorts of characters there, both common and obscure, ranging all the way back to when Heroscape was first released.

Yes, next to dwarves, minotaurs are a race I hope is introduced to the Heroscape universe very soon!
That said, I really like the paint on the Tor bros. A HUGE step up from the MK originals in both shading and details. I also like the accent colors used to help them better match. Great work on those figs for a classic custom card! |

Those were not made, just touched up and repainted. Check out the text above for the figure lines they are from. The minotaur in blue looks pretty much exactly like the picture when you buy it, so it is worth getting. The other two need more work.

I must say, I admire your works... Though I can understand why you do this. Customs are, quite simply, addictive. I actually get ahead of myself... I have I don't know how many models lying around that I don't even have cards for.

• http://www.gatheringground.com • http://www.everythingmageknight.com • http://www.trollandtoad.com Note that I'd start with Gather Ground first, and work my way down. Personally, I've had no problems with any of these vendors, though I have heard of a few complaints from others about EMK and TandT. Hope that helps! |
