Heroscaper2010

PROFILE:

Who are you really?
My name's Kirk, and I live with my mom and younger sister and step-brother. I live in a small town in Ohio, called Sugarcreek. I've lived here since 2003 when we moved from Dover. I'm a freshman in high school.

How old are you?
I'm 15 turning 16 in June.

What is your occupation?
None, as of right now. But definitely looking sometime soon.

What other interests do you have?
Up until last year, I loved Baseball. Somehow, I've lost interest in America's Favorite Pastime and fallen in love with Football. For the first time this year, I'm trying out Football and Track (despite how much I hate running). I'm an Indians fan, and no matter how frustrating, will always be. I don't like the Browns though. I didn't care much for any football teams until Kindergarten, when all my friends and the girl I...

Unveiling Battleship Galaxies

Posted June 13th, 2011 at 11:17 AM by truth
When I pick up the box the first thing I notice is the weight of it. Then I notice the construction of the box itself. It is one of those small but noticeable details that many premium hobby board game companies pride themselves in – the use of high quality materials. You see, these companies want you to recognize that they have put great care into every detail of their product, but this product isn’t coming from a premium hobby board game company. Battleship Galaxies is a Hasbro product. Then I flip the box over and see that in the back corner they have printed “A STRATEGY GAME BY CRAIG VAN NESS”. This is another departure for Hasbro. They never credit a designer on the game box, but they have here.

So the box hasn’t even been opened yet and already I can sense that I am holding something special in my hands. I tear open the cellophane like a seven year old tearing into a...

Conversations with a Guru

Posted April 11th, 2009 at 09:56 AM by truth
Recently on the forums there has been quite a commotion about how the rules team for Heroscape functions. Well our own Mr. Bistro recently interviewed the man who creates the Heroscape FAQs. That man humbly refers to himself as 'theGuru'. Hopefully theGuru can shed some light on what the Heroscape rules team is all about.

Mr. theGuru, thank you for agreeing to this interview. May I call you Guru?

You may.

Thank you Jennifer.

I would like to begin this interview with a question. If a double-spaced figure flies and lands in both an unimportant space and Doorway Space #4, and assuming the reinforced door is closed when both the figure and the reinforced door are targeted by Deathwalker 7000’s Self-Destruct ability (causing 2 wounds to each), and supposing this damage is sufficient to destroy the double-spaced figure (yet not the reinforced door), may the double-spaced figure open and close the door, presuming Doorway Spaces #1-3 are

A Heroscaper's Wish List

Posted December 12th, 2007 at 07:48 PM by truth

This Christmas season leaves Heroscapers sad and dismayed. Many of us have already grabbed up Hasbro’s latest Heroscape offering – Swarm of the Marro, and now in the wake of the giving and getting frenzy that is Christmas, we are left without new Heroscape goodies to write Santa about.
I could take this opportunity to **** and moan about Hasbro dropping the ball by not offering something new and shiny for the hordes of Heroscape fans to bow down before in worshipful bliss, as they toss fistfuls of money at their newest miniature plastic idols. I could talk about how those Jungle Trees (which we now know are delayed to ’08, along with everything else we saw at GenCon) would just sell themselves in massive quantities. But neigh, I shall take the high road.
Instead of complaining about the lack of Heroscape under the tree, I’ve compiled a list of great games that any good Heroscaper would love to have. Parents, take special note that none of these games are as child-friendly...
