Gods vs. Men - 16 Choice Draft

Well met!

An expansion on the 16 Card Draft idea: 16 Choices, ranging from 420 - 460 points/Choice. [Edited numerous times, even after publishing.] While most of the Choices have some sort of internal, thematic synergy, I have intentionally avoided any obvious synergies between Choices [with the exception of the Hydra & A.I.M. Choices, which doesn't feel unbalancing]. I wanted to include squads and synergies in a draft without having draft order determining the winners and losers in competition for them - which I felt would have been the case if I had made this an individual Card draft.

1,800 Point Game?


Well met!

My concern now is how long a game will take. We've pretty much settled on 750 as the sweet spot for Classic 'Scape. What do you all consider the sweet spot to be in Super 'Scape? How would you format this draft?

Point of Diminishing Returns

As a Player, I like to have choices when it comes to what units I field. As a scenario creator, limiting the Players' choices in this respect allows for manipulating match ups for thematic purposes. I'm considering whether to divide the draft such that one set of teammates draft from, say, a finite selection of Terrorists and the Insane, while the other drafts from a similar selection of Agents and Lawmen. But, beyond a certain point, such as in Sherman's upcoming Civil War game, it's so much easier to just build 4 armies, as he did, rather than going to all the trouble of creating a draft, when you pretty much know what units in what teams you want the others to field?

There is clearly a point of diminishing returns . . .
