CRAIG VAN NESS is HERE!

Posted September 13th, 2016 at 10:38 AM by truth
As seen in the past couple of front page posts, the lead designer of Heroscape, Craig Van Ness, is now independent, starting his own game company with his brother, Jeff.

Part 2 of he and his brother's video series/vlog is here, talking about their logo design:
I'm enjoying watching their journey and can't wait to see their first game.

That said, I may have buried the lede here, but being independent also means that Craig now has an account here, at Heroscapers, and is posting in the forums! If you've got a question for him, have a look at this thread, and ask away!

I liked the one with the rocket. Of the three you picked, I like the 'pilot' one best.

I like the 'pilot' one (the one that looks like an old WW II badge) the best.

Out of the three I definitely like the badge one the best also. Out of all of them though, I'd go with the one that had the Rihno flying, with the rocket tail merged with his outline. I thought that one had really good potential as a professional-looking logo.

Yup. I am Craig's brother Jeff. Been here since the beginnings of heroscapers. Love the feedback and all the great things people have been saying.

I really like the way you described your initial reactions to each of the concept art renderings. Personally, I like the Rhino tied to a rocket (you called it a "jet-pack") the best, but I had to pick from the three that you narrowed it down to, then I'd go with "C" - the pilot rhino in the badge emblem. It does have a professional quality about it that arouses a curiosity - "Oh, interesting! I wonder what this company is all about?". Also the scarf around its neck reminds me of the ascots worn by World War I flying aces, like the Snoopy vs. the Red baron in the Peanuts cartoons.
