Symbiote Suit Spidey!

Posted November 28th, 2010 at 08:39 PM by hextr1p
I took some pictures of a custom painted Spider-Man for 'Scaper Robbdaman. He'd painted the figure for the prize table at the SoCal Slaughter 2009. After taking the pics, I decided to put a card together based, once again, on the comic book card template I put together.

Color wise, while it looks like I borrowed from the 'Spiderman 3' movie version of the black suit, I was actually using the cover of Sensational Spiderman #38 as inspiration, while also wanting the detail of the figure to be seen.

Note that the card's stats and abilities are based on customs by Grey Owl and Lotus. Both are available in the A-Z Of Custom Created SuperHeroes forum thread.

I may go back and tweak the card so the themes of the abilities play a bit to the sinister side of the symbiote. But for now, I'm good with this one, and can't wait to see my little Symbiote Spidey hit the table, card and all!

Your cards are amazing.

The unit is kinda bland for me, but thats because I don't like the official Spider-man which this is basically a boost of.

Great card though! (How often can I say I LOVE your MarvelScape template?)

LP: Thanks!

ZB: Thank you, sir!

TCG: Yeah, I guess for now the text will work as placeholder until I can come up with something a little more creative. But I had to do something to put the figure into games!

That is one awesome repaint. Oh and cool card too man. Glad you took pics of it since I never did take any. Shoot them over to me when you get a chance, please. I think you will love this next repaint/mod I'm doing too. Wish I had done it for NHSD this year.

Wow. Awesome job.

I've been looking at a way to turn my extra Venom into a Carnage (can't figure out a way I like for the tentacles). Haven't even thought of painting my extra Spidey black...

Thanks for the inspiration!!

ROB: Yes, it is a VERY cool repaint. Respect to the person who painted it! And I just sent the pic over to your email. Looking forward to the mod you're working on now!

AM27: Actually, the member above your post painted him. So you can thank him for the inspiration. But I do agree that it is a pretty awesome job, and the figure is a great addition to my collection. Thus the reason I wanted a card to show him off!

ROB Just finished repainting mine last night! THANKS!!

HEX I'm assuming you don't care if I use the card? I have terrible Gimp skills when it comes to inserting custom figures. (And it looks amazing and probably exactly like I would make it if I hadn't seen this! )

AM27: I don't mind at all. In fact, if you PM me your email address, I'll send you a printable PDF version of the card so you don't have to deal with the low-res JPG posted in the gallery.
