I normally blog about customs or some other worthwhile topic, but I just had to post this.
I'm in pretty good shape. I live on a farm so I'm to throwing around haybales and feed bags. I'm also an avid hiker. I've done a three day backpacking trip in Upstate New York and last spring I climbed Guadelupe, the tallest mountain in Texas. Which makes this all the more embarrassing.
This morning I woke up with a little twinge by my shoulder blade. I guess I slept on it wrong or something, I don't really know. Anyway I ignored it and went about my morning chores. As I was jogging from the barn to the pond the shoulder that had the twinge suddenly filled with pain. I don't know how to describe it. Sort of like someone was trying crush it from the inside. It faded after a few minutes, but I didn't do any more jogging that day.
Later that day I decided to get to work on Lefton4ya's quick set up contest. I had the map finished, and was putting some figures on it to see how it looked. As I lifted up a Marro Drone my shoulder once again exploded in pain. It was even worse this time. It faded after a few minutes just like the last time, but it still twinged for the rest of the day.
So my question is this. Did you ever hurt yourself while making a map? I mean that's probably one of the stupidest things I have ever done.

That sounds like it could be serious. You should probably get it looked at.
I ocasionally hurt myself trying to pull battlements off the 7-hex and 9-hex wall walk pieces, but for the most part my mapmaking is injury-free. |

Yeah, Castle pieces always seem to cause me injury. Especially when trying to slide one wall into another. Very easy to pinch your fingers!

I always slice my fingers while working with castle towers and ladders.

The whole castle set is painful to work with. Whether it's putting a base on a wall, sliding two walls together, taking off a ladder, or taking off a battlement, I seem to get hurt. All the castle pieces are very stiff and rigid.

Rednax if they stay that way for more than 5 hours you are supposed to see a doctor.

it's always hard to get ladders off regular, non castle terrain. i've scraped my fingertips off once or twice doing that.

I haven't had any trouble with the castle pieces. But why did they have to make the ladders so darn sharp?

You throw around haybales and feed bags...
(I worked on a dairy farm for a year, so I understand what you're mooing about) Perhaps you have been building this injury for a long time- and lifting the Marro Drone was just the final straw for your poor camel back. |
