HeroScape is a wonderful way to pass an evening with friends, but for a person with a more active imagination, it also is the perfect fantasy world to dream up scenarios, terrain, and stories. This blog displays my thoughts and creations of HeroScape fantasy.
The Lost Caverns
The King's Highway winds its way through Elorin, the main route to the current battlefront. Beneath one of the checkpoints a giant sinkhole has opened up, revealing what could be another wellspring. Two armies have each sent a small reconnaissance force to investigate
these Lost Caverns and the secrets they might hold.
Discuss the Lost Caverns
The Lost Caverns is an almost perfectly symmetrical map. If I had another RotV set, I would use the small ruin in place of the large one, but this plays fine. This is one case where I found I had to place glyphs up top to get people to take elevation, but that is due to the huge amounts of cover and overhangs. The small size means that even slow melee armies like the knights can do well.

I applaud you for your mapmaking skill. I could never do anything like that in the way of mapmaking....

Aw, think positive, Timemaster4! It takes a lot of "tinkering" with the tiles for me, and sometimes I find myself tearing down whole parts of a map in order to rebuild it more efficiently. But most of all, I find that if you just start with "What If..." you will turn out a good-looking map.
