What is the Fan Fiction Competition?
The Fan Fiction Competition is a community-made writing contest. It was designed for writers of all levels who want to test their skills with the pen (and keyboard). A prompt, describing what to write about, starts things off. All you have to do to enter is write something matching that prompt (preferably related to HS). The only limitations are a time limit of around one month (determined when the prompt is given out), a word limit (also determined when the prompt is given...

Posted October 27th, 2010 at 09:55 AM by truth
Longtime Heroscaper Skyknight has started a long running campaign of Heroscape battles with his kids and he is keeping us up to date in Dungeon Crawl thread: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=32840

I will post pics here and the scenarios but it is not going to be Classic Heroscape per se....it is going to be a dungeon crawl first without much regards for Generals other than special powers being activated. It will not be Vahalla....the heroes will become generic and as swarms of heroes invade the dungeons of StormDeep I will constantly tell the story, introduce new heroes, new traps, new rule twists, and all sorts of other fun stuff. Thormun's Journal - The Swarm of the Marro Scenarios

There have been some recent updates to Thormun's Journal. These recent entries directly reflect the events played out in the scenarios that are included in the Swarm of the Marro Master Set.

Thormun's Journal has taken on a far more mature tone. I wrote these current entries back during a time when the game was still at Hasbro and I fully expected to have to tone them down in a second draft. You see, Craig and I had an ongoing deal, I would write the stories raw, I would write them the way I thought they should be told and he would just reel me back in where he thought I had gone too far for Hasbro's younger audience. However, as many of you know, the game has moved hands to Wizards of the Coast where Hasbro felt the game could be better marketed toward the hobby gamers (that would be us, we are mostly an older demographic here), and as a result I get away with...

Heroscape Compendium

The Unoffical Guide to Heroscape has long been the go to source for keeping up with the fiction building around Heroscape.* Now the Unofficial Guide is back under a new name, its updated, and looking great.** Guide creator Annerios writes:

It has been a long time coming, but the Unofficial Guide to Heroscape returns with updates in content, art and design. This edition has so many changes that we have renamed it The Heroscape Compendium.

The Heroscape Compendium has all of the scattered bits of the growing Heroscape storyline from advertising campaigns, flavor text in rule guides, unit biographies, battlefield scenarios and, of course, Thormun's Journal. Now, thanks to the fantastic efforts of Hextr1p and Hex_Enduction_Hour, the guide has an updated interior design that is beautiful to look at instead of just being utilitarian.
