A Codex Call for Help

Greetings from the Codex.

Ever since our restart in January, the Codex has been staggering along. We’ve more or less gotten everything out on time, but the number of close calls is getting somewhat worrisome. We had to miss February entirely, as you might be aware.

This is due to a variety of factors, but one of the largest ones is not having enough backup writers in place to take over if the main writer can’t deliver on time. This is why we would like to ask anyone who sees this, to please consider joining us at the Codex. Additionally, if you have friends here at HSers who you think might be interested, please consider contacting them and letting them know we could use them.

While, in general, the more the better, there are a few requirements that need to be met for new members, in order to ensure we continue turning out top-quality work:

• Interest. This rather goes without saying, but it is important. You need to be interested in what you are writing, and want to write it. A half-hearted attempt will turn out a half-hearted article.
• Capability. You need to know what you are talking about. For example, if you want to write articles about a specific customs group, you should probably be a part of that group. You need to be knowledgeable.
• Activity. This is the most important factor next to capability. You need to be active. Being active lets us communicate with you quickly in the case of problems or extended deadlines. Ideally, we would like you to be active every day, but we realize that isn’t possible for some people. Being active at least every three days is the minimum. I cannot stress enough how important activity is.

There can never be enough backup writers. If you would like to be part of the crew that helps keep HeroScape alive through the Codex, please send a PM to The Grim Reaper’s Friend for additional details. If you meet all of the requirements, we will consider your request and hopefully see you in the Codex!

P.S. It does not matter which topic you want to write about. In fact, the more that you can write about, the better. Do note that we might ask for a brief and current sample of your writing.
