Customs Creation - January 2019

Customs Creation
Design Fundamentals
Author: Scytale

Articles on creating customs provide insight into many of the finer aspects of creating custom Heroscape units, a hobby that is far more intricate and challenging than it first appears. While these resources can be invaluable, their wisdom will likely fail you if you are not starting with a base of strong fundamentals. I’m talking about knowledge not only of the game and of the existing units, but of broad design patterns that emerge from looking at the official units as well as an understanding of the metagame. While this article is targeted at those new to custom creation, all of us can benefit from reviewing the fundamentals of custom design, including myself.

Different Heroscape units have different purposes. In my articles, I have repeatedly stressed the importance of understanding

You Know Donner and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen

Posted January 18th, 2019 at 03:47 AM by flameslayer93
But do you know the most famous reindeer of all?

It's 2019! I know I'm late. But that's not the point of this post.

So, in spirit of the new year, I think I should try to set a resolution for the year. I'm not entirely sure what I should try to achieve. And then, like virtually all new year's resolutions, probably fail miserably at it.

Or, maybe not! My goal for 2017 was to get into the competitive 'scape scene, and my goal for 2018 was to further my relationship with my then girlfriend, Tina. Both of those worked out, and now I need to think of something for 2019.

I have plenty of low hanging fruits I could reach for including:

1) Save money! Doubt it, I don't want to devote myself to money.
2) Start excersising! I know I've put on some weight, but even I can't take this seriously.
3) Start going to bed at a reasonable time. I work second shift...
4) Squeeze more hours out of a day so I can...

C3G Strategy - January 2019

C3G Strategy Guide
Speedy (Mia Dearden)
By: Lazy Orang

My second review of a low-cost, female archer, it seems. An odd little statistical anomaly given the volume of units in the game.

Analyzed Statistics

Left Box Breakdown
Species – Human (minor synergies, such as being healed by Alfred Pennyworth; also by far the most common species in C3G, making it somewhat clunky for Star-Lord builds)
Uniqueness – Unique Hero
Class – Sidekick (can be extracted by Alfred and get a bonus to his healing; also allows Speedy to team up with Aqualad and Spoiler as bonding options—as well as the other Speedy and Red Arrow, for purely attack bonding; has interactions with Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Superboy (Kon-El), Raven and Starfire;

FFC #24 - Status Update #1

TGRF's Fan Fiction Chronicles - Entry 24

Greetings, readers. I've been working on TLFF, and I'm super excited about the stories I can explore in it. The fiction will be set in Valhalla's future, so borders, alliances, and the like have shifted, but the rest is relatively unchanged. Before I get to TLFF though, I wanted to give you a quick update on where I am:

HiS. Dan's tale is fully written, proofread, and reviewed. There are several passages which I need to revise, but after that, I will begin posting. The revisions should take 1-3 weeks to complete.

TLFF. The Last Fan Fiction, entitled By Any Other Path, will be different from my previous fan fictions. It is a series. It is infinite, meaning the series never ends. It will instead be composed of shorter fan fictions all set within the same world and using the same characters. The world is all of Valhalla, and the characters are all the traditional HS characters, plus some of my own invention,...

Masha Shingai vs Knights

Fossil by R˙chean
Glyphs: Lodin (D20 +1), Dagmar (Initiative +8 )
Astro: Masha Shingai, Tomoe Gozen, Raelin, Tagawa Samurai, Kozuke Samurai (500)
Leo: Knights of Weston x3, Sir Gilbert, Nilfheim (500)

Current Version of Unit:
Spoiler Alert!

Game Summary
Leo won initiative and reinforced well, getting 4 and then 3 on his Jandar's Dispatch rolls. This allowed for Masha to get engaged very early on, although he was luckily able to activate Awakened Terror in time. Most of the battle took place around this point, as I lacked the figures or mobility to flank Leo but was able to force him to use the roads on either side of my Samurai pod.

While this occurred, Leo also managed to claim Dagmar, but I won initiative the next round anyway and was able to do some damage... but only through Counterstrike thanks to Masha + Raelin. Masha fell despite all of the help, since he just couldn't withstand...
