Castle Crawl Redux!

Well met!

Here is the rebuild of Castle Crawl!, as promised.

It is even better than The Lost City of Ashra!, IMHO. It is certainly more difficult for any party of heroes, as it contains Cyprien & Sonja, 2 Werewolf Lords and 3 squads of the Wolves of Badru. (Of course, the Map may be used for other scenarios than this one, such as the aforementioned The Lost City of Ashra!)

The Gang of Four will undoubtedly play with a 15 Round time limit and around 600 points (heroes only), but you all can play any number of Rounds with any number of points.

Pure Heat of Battle rules will be used for setup. Units may be places adjacent to any other units on the Map.

Below is an arbitrary list of "appropriate" (no common, uncommon, large/huge, soulborg, or undead) heroes.

The List

No heroes!

Here are the Neutral Force rules (adopted from The Giant Grove of Utgar!) for use in this scenario:

"On the adjacent card table (placed on either end) the teams' cards will be placed on opposite sides. In the middle will be placed all the Neutral Force cards:

When placing Order Markers (OMs), at the beginning of each Round, 1 (and only 1) OM (other than the X) must be placed on one of the Neutral Force cards.

1. Neutral Force units cannot be moved in such a way that they would risk falling damage;

2. Neutral Force units may never attack Giants, Great Evergreens or Evergreens;

3. Neutral Force units may not risk Leaving Engagement Attacks, for which purpose all Party Heroes are considered "enemies;" thus, you may not move Neutral Force units out of engagement with any Party Heroes, even your own;

except when Mindshackled, Blood Frenzied, Enslaved, etc."

Falling Trees.

The C3G Christmas Special Falling Trees will be used in this scenario.

[There are no Treasure Glyphs on the Map as pictured, but it is suggested that there be some, especially if you are playing a campaign, so some can be carried over from game to game.]

Suggested Victory Conditions:

1. 1 Victory Point (VP) for killing the most points of Trees (Evergreen = 1, Great Evergreen = 2).

2. 1 VP for the most Neutral Force points destroyed.

3. 1 VP for the most Party Hero points destroyed.

In the case of a tie, the winner is the player with the most Party Hero points destroyed.

Best Castle Yet!

Well met!

This is, as aforesaid, my best Castle Map yet, even among those built after, and including, The Lost City of Ashra!

I hate to nitpick, but Sudema shouldn't be on that list. She is Undead.

I think you really did do a good job on the map though.

Partial Playtest Results in HoB

Well met!

As I was a bit under the weather yesterday, I started a Gang of Four simulation game. It was apparent after 3 Rounds that most of the units were still piled up around the entrance, with no real strategy possible. So I have changed the initial placement to HoB (Heat of Battle), and asked for armies here.
