It might be easier than ever to get into the game, given the very reasonably priced 'Scape available lately in

Well met!

The Gang of Four met, in its entirety , yesterday, and played three games of chas'
THE HILLS ARE ALIVE! A Halloween Heroscape Scenario. Kudos to chas for hosting, writing the scenario, and building the map.
A grand time was had by all.

The Map

chas built a fine map. There was some difficulty with the central hill.

As you can see, it was Confrontation terrain. There were little white dots to show which sections are "hexes," and little red ones to show which partial hexes were impassable (none visible here). I was never certain of what was adjacent to what, or how high it was. It was also quite amusing to place multiple figures up there that kept sliding off into each other and all the...

Odd Numbered Point Costs and "Wasting Points"?

Posted November 3rd, 2013 at 11:27 AM by kolakoski
Well met!

Suppose you are building a 550 point Roman army featuring the 145 point Azurite Warlord, or a
550 point Knights of Weston army featuring the 105 point Sir Gilbert, would you be comfortable fielding 545 points, and, if not, how much trouble would you go to to avoid "wasting points?"

How were those odd numbered point costs for the various units arrived at in the first place? In the Book of Van Nessing, there is an interesting discussion of how his price was determined starting on page 3 - basically saying that his outsider, conflicted status was reflected in his odd numbered cost, making it more difficult for him to fit in to his expected niche builds. graygnarl saysthe new Azurite Warlord "
was always tested at point values that ended in 5, I'm pretty sure the reason was to make him pair well with Armocs x 3, and give less incentive to play him with Romans." From KCU Master, in the Book of Sir Gilbert, addressing...

Well met!

Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited
'Cause we're reunited, hey, hey

On Wednesday, 11/6/13, it will be another Roman Holiday for me, as I will be spending the day at chas' Game Palace with the rest of the Gang of Four to play
THE HILLS ARE ALIVE! A Halloween Heroscape Scenario. Naturally, I'll be fielding a Roman army. The release of the new C3V Exclusive [VC?] Azure Warlord, and my imminent acquisition of same [Thanks, again, nyys; please rush that out to me ASAP!] (hopefully before the 11th ), have got me all hot & bothered about them again [Sorry, Knights (most recently acquired - again, thanks, nyys ). Below is a brief treatise of my historical and personal impressions of them - suitably spoilered [Why can't I produce single spoilers? ] for those who know everything about them. Please

Well met!

For 11/6/13 game hosted by chas:

A Halloween Heroscape Scenario

For The New York City Gang of Four

October 2013 by Chas

Good Armies (Kolakoski and Sherman Davies)

Each player will make up a 550 point army of non Utgar/Valkril forces. VC Customs are allowed, but no Supers. Good armies are teammates with each other.

The Kolakoski Rule: Valhalla Society rules are in effect for all players: No guns for anyone. This means YOU! Secondary weapon pistols will only work to a maximum range of three spaces (or less if so stated). Kolakoski should prepare two Good Armies, in case SD can’t make it.

The Sherman Davies Rule: SD and only SD may use his LOTR customs (Good Guys only).

Evil Armies (Chas and Taeblewalker)

Evil armies are teammates with each other.
