I'm one of them, and I'm proud of it.

Maybe it's because Heroscape was the only game I played, maybe it's because I'm sure to get plenty of physical exercise, maybe I'm completely nuts. Actually I am completely nuts, but that's not the point. Up until now I've always had a reason/excuse for why I wasn't quite as nerdy as the next guy. Until a few months ago. I don't know what brought it on, but suddenly, and I mean literally overnight. I was comfortable with my geek habits. And not only comfortable, proud. I was able to stand up and say. This is what I like, take it or leave it, and I did. I enjoy games, I always have. It started when I was eight years old and bought my first pack of yugioh cards. Then when I was twelve and was given my first Rise of the Valkyrie master set for Christmas. For some reason I always made an excuse. Heroscape isn't that nerdy. It's got simple rules. Lot's of stuff like that. I'm past that now, and this was literally overnight. And what better way to celebrate my newfound acceptance than with a...

Life is good.

Posted September 22nd, 2010 at 11:27 PM by Chardar
It's pretty obvious that I like Heroscape. Look at the name of the website, then back to this blog. The fact that I even have a blog means I like Heroscape enough to become a site supporter, but that's not what this blog is about. I wanted to show off what I do when I'm not on here, playing heroscape, or sleeping.

Photography.

Photography is a major hobby of mine. I'm pretty particular about my pictures, as you might have noticed from my images on the site. For every picture you see me post there's another five or so that just didn't make the cut. I take pictures of anything, but I specialize in wild animals. Believe it or not they sit still better than domestic animals. Here's a couple of pictures I've taken over the years.

This is in response to this post. This blog is best read while listening to the Sixth Sense soundtrack.

You could probably easily take an exacto knife to your old bases if you don't mind mutilating them.
GASP! .....mutilating 'Scape figures.......

......stagger.....I need a Scotch, neat, quickly.......
We all marvel at the wonder of some of this site's modified figures, but we never stop to think about what goes on behind the scenes. The frightening truth behind those amazing customs...

Group customs.

Posted September 9th, 2010 at 08:11 PM by Chardar
In my last (meaningful) blog I talked about why people make customs. Today I'm going to continue that thought with a blog about customs groups. Of course the most famous customs group is the "C3G", but that is far more intense, almost official. So I won't focus on that particular group, for fear of getting too many details wrong.

Group customs are customs that are made by a group, generally around a certain theme. There are advantages and disadvantages to group customs. So let's explore them. Most customs groups are known as projects. I am a member of "Project Pokemon". This is a group that creates and tests Pokemon customs.

Groups usually have levels of membership. Project Pokemon has three, ally, junior trainer, and trainer. Each level is a symbol of dedication to the project. Not much is expected or asked of the first level, but higher levels had better be ready to pull their weight. Projects also tend to have a leader to help keep things...

So pathetic that I just had to share.

Posted September 4th, 2010 at 09:10 PM by Chardar
I normally blog about customs or some other worthwhile topic, but I just had to post this.

I'm in pretty good shape. I live on a farm so I'm to throwing around haybales and feed bags. I'm also an avid hiker. I've done a three day backpacking trip in Upstate New York and last spring I climbed Guadelupe, the tallest mountain in Texas. Which makes this all the more embarrassing.

This morning I woke up with a little twinge by my shoulder blade. I guess I slept on it wrong or something, I don't really know. Anyway I ignored it and went about my morning chores. As I was jogging from the barn to the pond the shoulder that had the twinge suddenly filled with pain. I don't know how to describe it. Sort of like someone was trying crush it from the inside. It faded after a few minutes, but I didn't do any more jogging that day.

Later that day I decided to get to work on Lefton4ya's quick set up contest. I had the map finished, and was putting some figures...
