River of Blood Realliance - I Join Team Evil!

Well met!
For various reasons, there will only be four of us next week (Sept. 10th) for our River of Blood game. As a result, chas and Taeblewalker will remain on, and be the sole members of, Team Good, while Sherman and I will be the sole members of Team Evil. chas was looking forward to my playing Kaemon (I know, yet again ) in this scenario, but, unless they re-draft Team Good (which I know chas is reluctant to do) to exclude him, that will have to wait for another time. Team Good, as you may recall, currently consists of Sonlen, Kaemon, Rhogar, and Mika.
When I became aware of my alliance shift, I, of course, immediately began planning what armies to field in each of the rooms. I tentatively came up with:
Room 1: Drow x 2/Minions. Drow x1/Q9 has been suggested, but I'm inclined to save Q9 for
Room 2: Hydra/Q9. dok's GenCon-winning team minus the Deathreavers. We could finish this thing right here!
Room 3: Othkurik/Greenscales x 2/Feral Troll. Not a lot of good choices for this room, I'm afraid. I could go with Cyprien, I suppose.
Room 4: Estivara/Torin/Krav/Raelin RotV/Stingers x 2. If Room 2 didn't finish them, this should.
Fortunately for Team Good, Sherman's idea of the makeup of Team Evil is quite different from mine. He wants to draft mostly, if not entirely, D&D 'scape for our team. Assuming Team Good is not reconstituted, Team Evil (D&D), while not nearly as strong, might eke out a victory with:
Room 1: Drow x 2/Iron Golem (Sherman's counter-draft to Kaemon)/Isamu.
Room 2: Hydra/Black Wyrmlings x 6. Wyrmlings should put a world of hurt on Team Good before the Hydra cleans up.
Room 3: As is. It's all D&D anyways.
Room 4: Estivara/Torin/Shurrak/Phantom Knights x 2. "Knockback in the Water" is our favorite song.
Of course, if Sherman has any more/different ideas for Team Evil (D&D), or Team Good's composition changes . . .

I actually like the Black Wyrmlings better than Q9 in Room 2 (and I''m surprised you don't )

Dont' forget the Stalactites Rule: if the Black Wrymlings fly, they die--I used a couple myself on Team Evil in my solitaire campaign, which I'll be mentioning elsewhere with the Teams I used.

Sounds like fun!
I lost 4 (Agent Skahen, Major X17, Rhogar, Thorgrim) of 5 heroes (Heirloom survived) in Room 3, going against Othkurik, Greenscales x 1, Anubian Wolves x 2. The black dragon is simply brutal on that map, and he did not even fly. I ended up with one greenscale left for Room 4, Heirloom, and 4 wounded heroes after Second Wind. With range, Sonlen and Kaemon should turn Estivera (in Room 4) into a pin cushion. |

Sir Art, notice that, in my first Team Evil, I do have Q9 in Room 2. chas, there is so much open room, and height on my side, that I won't even be tempted to fly.

I still like this answer:
Quote:
Here's my new answer for which figures I'd take in each room for evil, assuming a generically effective adventuring party:
1. Krug + Marro Warriors + Isamu (Krug charges uphill... if he's wounded along the way, who cares? Marro Warriors only take the lead if there are squadies to kill, otherwise save them for the end.) 2. Stingers x3 (Self-explanatory) 3. Cyprien (Fits the points. I don't think Sonya is necessary.) 4. Deathreavers x1 + Raelin + Zetacron + Fen Hydra (Rats crowd around Estivara and never take an OM. Raelin sits on the cliff above and never takes an OM. Zetacron starts ripping from height at the start, and the Hydra tries to finish the job. This combo uses all 9 available startzone spaces.) |

I was using all Utgar as Evil, being a thematic fanatic. But Ana K.'s power on my Team Good made me rethink!
Kolakoski: Yeah--was hoping you wouldn't notice. I have to make a gamewide list of Hero Killers and Squad Killers for our future convenience. Unless you want to do it? |
