Eh, Soulborgs don't really jive with the theme of Ullar or Einar, I don't think we'll be seeing them. Then again I probably would have said the same thing about Jandar, so I could easily be wrong.

Great podcast, by the way, loved it.

They look really good. If you're going by the recent TCGPlayer.com previews, the pics they posted don't even come close to how good these figs look.

That being said, it's a blind purchase game which isn't to everyone's liking - however, it's a pretty small first set (only 52 figures) so it's not like a new release for a 300-card CCG or something, which can be worse in some ways.

Also, to relate to something Hextr1p said about cost - it's actually a solid deal for the Starter Set. If you compare it to, say, the forthcoming WoW minis CMG, it's a better deal per cost of figure. When you factor in that FFG gives you the entire set of unit cards with the Starter Set also, you're able to at least proxy every figure in the game - which I think is kind of neat.

But I'm biased I suppose so take what I say with a grain of salt! :P
I'm mostly okay with blind purchase. I collect a lot of these. That having been said, there is no way I'm paying $20 for 3 blind purchase figures. I will look forward to buying these at a discount when the game tanks.

I never wanted MC to tank, but $6+ per figure just killed my interest in the game.

Ninthdoc, I can certainly understand your stance. However, it's 4 units per $20 and at a much larger scale (54mm) that includes more plastic.

Considering what you get in the Starter Set (all the cards for every unit so you can proxy if you want while you collect, a double-sided play map - the game is played on a 2D map rather than 3D terrain or custom terrain, so the scale shouldn't be a problem in that regard, dice, counters, 6 figures, rulebook, and all the game's Command Cards), it's a really good deal for $30. Also, we'll be posting info concerning the future status of the game's collectible aspect that may please fans looking to avoid blind-purchases.

I'm confident that the game will find a great niche (early buzz and pre-orders seem to support my hopes, which is awesome!). It may not be a game for everyone but it definitely has its own niche and feel. The gameplay in particular is really great.

I've also posted more about this in my thread entitled, "I'm not a shill, just got lucky and landed a great new job."

Check it out if you'd like more info on the game. But I can definitely understand the concerns mentioned here.

Elffy, I'm glad you liked it. I felt bad beating on you so I turned the focus to Hahn.

Fang, I'm relieved that the figures only will cost $5 and not $6.63 each. Now I can sleep at night. Pardon me while I go rent a summer home to store all those 54mm figures that will have such limited use in other games...

Thanks Ninthdoc. It was still pretty funny, even with bistro bashing me. "Darn Hahnarama's already taken!" Gold.

One more thing about Mutant Chronicles that hasn't been posted yet. There are 4 figures in the box, not 3, and one of them is a large (two-hex) figure. So you get 3 standard size, one double. So another way to think about it is $4 per hex, which isn't too far off of current mini prices, and you get bigger minis too.

Yeah, shut up Onacara. We all (well, most of us) heard. Twice. Or even 4 times. It was funny! Even if it...was me...
