To the fine American Heroscapers:
The despicable state of the Public School System in this country has recently come to my attention. Did you know that 50% of our nation's children are below the median on standardized tests? How can we ensure our children's futures when half of them are below average? This is a shocking state of affairs, and I insist that the people of this fine country (and others, if they want... I hear the British have a very nice school system...) get together and come up with a plan to improve the future of our nation's children. We need to make sure that the 50% who are below average can raise themselves up to meet and exceed the average. Whatever we come up with should guarantee that 100% of our children are at or above the median.
Thank you,
Fuzzie Fuzz

I must be sounding harsh, but I think its the parents fault. You need to be involved in what your child does, as almost every child wants to play, even if they need to "work".

Um, I'd be more worried about our schools if everyone were above the average... Think about that one for a second.

Sorry S1R, but I think you need to think about this one harder. Nooblar got it!

Okay, I'll give you a hint: this was satirical. The median is the number right in the middle. 50% will always be higher, and 50% will be lower. I was making an amusing joke.

Agree with Sir Artorius. It's primarily a problem at home. Abomination is also onto something... And again the responsibility of tackling the problem of lies being taught in the classrooms comes back to parents / individuals. We can't rely on the government to do it.
In Namibia, I still use my (mostly) American school upbringing as a "good example." It may have gotten worse by now but I'd say it's a lot worse here. A 55% average can easily get you in the top 10 at most public schools. You have to score below 30% to be considered failing... |

Hehe...some schools probably stretch their numbers and say 55% is their median.

Okay... are there only 3 people who understand that this is a joke? Did you even think about what I was saying?
Also, ABOMINATION, PM sent. |

Well, 7 of us have responded. 3 got it, 3 didn't, and ART0R1US got it after a while, so I guess he's the median.
